2025 has been a fantastic year for Crunchyroll in cinemas. Hit films like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc have performed very well. But Crunchyroll isn‘t stopping there – they have one more special event planned before the year is out. Instead of another full-length movie, Crunchyroll is introducing “Crunchyroll Anime Nights,” bringing highly anticipated new and returning anime series to North American theaters later this month. The streaming service recently announced the details of this exciting event.
On December 15th, Crunchyroll is hosting Anime Nights at select theaters for one night only! The event will last over two hours and give anime fans an exclusive first look at episodes from upcoming series premiering in January. Crunchyroll describes it as a chance to see new seasons on the big screen before they’re available to stream. Don’t miss this special theatrical event! What Anime Will Be a Part of Crunchyroll Anime Nights?
Crunchyroll hasn’t announced which anime will be shown in theaters yet, but they have confirmed it will be the original Japanese audio with English subtitles. Fortunately, we have a pretty good idea of the new and returning shows Crunchyroll is releasing in January, so we can make some predictions. Popular returning series include Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Hell’s Paradise, and Oshi no Ko, among others. New anime coming to Crunchyroll include a sequel to Ronin Warriors, as well as You And I Are Polar Opposites, Dark Moon: The Blood Alter, Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling, and more. It’s likely that at least some of these shows will be featured during Crunchyroll Anime Nights.
Crunchyroll has another major movie release planned this month, in addition to the upcoming preview event. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution is coming to North American theaters this week. This film, created by MAPPA, revisits the Shibuya Incident Arc while also including the first episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen‘s third season. With Yuta Okkotsu pursuing Yuji Itadori and the intense Culling Game set to begin in season three, it will be fascinating to see how well this movie performs in theaters.
