
Crunchyroll has announced a large number of new anime licenses, extending through 2026 and beyond, including Season 3 of The Apothecary Diaries and Season 2 of Gachiakuta, among others. They’re gearing up for Anime Expo 2026 this July with previews of their upcoming series, and have also confirmed the streaming release plans for both new shows and returning favorites.
Crunchyroll recently announced a bunch of new anime coming to its streaming service this Summer and Fall of 2026, and hinted at even more titles potentially arriving after that. Here’s a list of all the confirmed anime licenses Crunchyroll revealed before Anime Expo 2026.
13). Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2

Release Window: July 2026
Season 2 of Saga of Tanya the Evil is back after a nine-year wait! This season has a new director, Takayuki Yamamoto, taking over from Yutaka Uemura (who directed Season 1). Studio NUT is still animating the series, and several key staff members are returning, including scriptwriter Kenta Ihara and character designer Yuji Hosogoe, who will also serve as chief animation director.
12). The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power
Release Window: July 2026
The anime The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power is being directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani, based on the original light novels by Almond and Yoshiro Ambe. Toko Machida is writing the screenplay, Taihei Nagai is designing the characters, and SUPA LOVE is composing the music. The main voice cast includes Rie Takahashi as Carolina, Makoto Furukawa as Edward, Haruka Shirashi as Flora, Shunichi Toki as Theodore, and Inori Minase as Melissa.
11). The Ogre’s Bride
Release Window: July 2026
The upcoming anime series The Ogre’s Bride is based on Kureha’s novels. Kazuhito Omiya will direct the animation at Colored Pencil Animation Japan. Yumi Kamakura is writing the scripts, with Hikari Tanaka and Hiroko Shigekuni handling character designs, and Masaru Yokoyama composing the music. Saori Hayami will voice Yuzu Shinonome, Yuichiro Umehara will voice Reiya Kiryuin, Momoka Terasawa will voice Sou, and Miyu Kobashi will voice Ao, among other voice actors.
10.) The Villager of Level 999
Release Window: July 2026
The anime series The Villager of Level 999 is based on the light novels by Koneko Hoshitsuki and Fuumi. Yoshinobu Kasai directs the series at Brains Base, with Shinzo Fujita handling the scripts. Kentaro Matsumoto is responsible for the character designs, and Hiroshi Nakamura composes the music. The voice actors include Satoshi Inomata as Koji Kagami, Nao Toyama as Alice, Hiroya Egashira as Takako, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Rex, among others.
9). Victoria of Many Faces
Release Window: July 2026
I’m so excited for the upcoming anime, Victoria of Many Faces! It’s based on the fantastic light novels by Syuu and Nanna Fujimi, and Studio Deen is animating it, with Nobukage Kimura directing. Naohiro Fukushima is writing the scripts, and Mina Osawa is in charge of character design – I love their style! Frontier Works helped with the overall planning, and the voice cast is amazing: Chika Anzai as Victoria, Shion Wakayama as Nonna, Yohei Azakami as Jeffrey, and a bunch of other talented actors. I can’t wait to see it!
8). Goodbye, Lara
Release Date: July 5th
The new anime series, Goodbye, Lara, is being created at Kinema Citrus with Takushi Koide directing. Anna Kawahara is writing the scripts, Shiori Tani is designing the characters, and Yuma Yamaguchi is composing the music, all for Kadokawa. Hana Hishikawa will voice Lara, with Nana Kawaishi as Mari Otsu, Rica Fukami as Grace, and Ayumu Murasa as Luca.
7). I Became a Legend after My 10 Year-Long Last Stand
Release Date: July 6th
The upcoming anime series, I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand, is based on the light novels by Ezogingitune and DeeCHA. Hiroyuki Kanbe (as Gekko) is directing, with scripts by Mitsutaka Hirota and character designs by Majiro. The voice actors include Gakuto Kajiwara as Luck, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Erik, Tsuyoshi Koyama as Golan, Yui Ishikawa as Celliss Morton, Mayu Sagara as Sia Wolcott, and others.
6). Tomb Raider King
Release Date: July 8th
The animated series Tomb Raider King is based on the original webcomics by SANG and produced in Korea with support from Kadokawa. Seung Wook Woo writes and directs the animation for STUDIO EEK. Hyun-Jung Lee is the chief animation director and character designer, with Hyung Jun Heo also serving as chief animation director and Ju Young Kim composing the music. The Japanese dub features Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ryoga Goriki, Saori Hayami as Irene Holton, and Junichi Suwabe as Taisei Ogawara, among others.
5). Firefly Wedding
Release Window: October 2026
Firefly Wedding is an anime based on Oreko Tachibana’s manga. Takahiro Kamei is directing the series, with david production handling the animation. Yukiko Aikei is designing the characters, Yuko Kakihara is writing the scripts, and NOGRID is composing the music. Lynn will voice Satoko Kirigaya, and Koki Uchiyama will voice Shinpei Goto.
4). Overgeared
Release Window: October 2026
The popular web novel Overgeared, originally created by Park Saenal and adapted into a webtoon by Lee Dong-Wook and Team Argo, is being made into an anime. Ayako Kono will direct the anime, with J.C. Staff animating and EGG FIRM producing. Kenta Ihara is handling the script and character design, while Yoshiaki Fujisawa will compose the music for Pony Canyon. Tatsumaru Tachibana will voice the character Grid, and Asami Seto will voice Yura.
3). The Apothecary Diaries Season 3

Release Window: Cour 1 October 2026 / Cour 2 April 2027
The third season of The Apothecary Diaries, based on Hyuganatsu’s novels, will be released in two parts. The first set of episodes will premiere in October, and the second will follow in April. Akinori Fudesaka is directing the new episodes, with Touko Shino handling the character designs, both for OLM. Plus, a new movie is coming to Japanese theaters this October, and we’re hoping to find out if it will be released internationally.
2). Sasaki and Peeps Season 2
Release Window: 2026
The anime Sasaki and Peeps, based on the light novels by Buncololi and Kantoku, is being directed by Mirai Minato at Silver Link. Deko Akao is writing the scripts, Saori Nakashiki is handling character design, and Koji Fujimoto and Osasu Sasaki are composing the music. The original voice actors are reprising their roles, including Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki, Aoi Yuki as Pii-chan, Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki, Akari Kito as Otonori-san, and Miyu Tomita as Elsa, among others.
1). Gachiakuta Season 2

Release Window: TBA
As of now, the creators of Gachiakuta haven’t shared many details about the second season. However, it will be returning to Crunchyroll with new episodes. We expect the same team and voice actors from the first season to be involved, and more information will be announced at Anime Expo 2026 this July.
