Celeste Rivas Hernandez‘s loved ones are in mourning after her body was discovered in D4vd‘s car.
The remains of a 15-year-old were discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known as the singer “Romantic Homicide,” at a Hollywood impound lot on September 8th.
After the heartbreaking discovery, her family described her as a deeply loved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.
It’s with a heavy heart that I share some incredibly sad news. The woman everyone’s been hoping for, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, has been identified as the person found last week. Her family is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine, and they’ve started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of her funeral. If you’re able to contribute, it would be a wonderful way to support them during this incredibly difficult time.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office says they haven’t been able to determine how Rivas Hernandez died because her body had significantly decomposed.
Police found human remains inside a Tesla after responding to reports of a bad smell. The car had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and left at a tow yard for several days.
Rivas Hernandez was first reported missing on April 5, 2024, in Lake Elsinore, California, a city about 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
TopMob News has tried to get a statement from D4vd’s representative, but they haven’t responded yet. NBC News reports that D4vd’s spokesperson said the 20-year-old is aware of the situation and is working with law enforcement.
D4vd was touring the U.S. to promote his first album, *Withered*, when news broke about the discovery of Rivas Hernandez’s body. He cancelled his September 17th concert in Seattle, and his next scheduled performance is on September 19th in San Francisco.
Police searched a home near where D4vd’s abandoned Tesla was found on September 17th, NBC News reported. While D4vd doesn’t own the house, sources at ABC News say he had been living there before starting his tour.
For more about D4vd, read on.
D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later moved to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.
D4vd started his career by streaming games like Fortnite on YouTube, hoping to gain popularity. In 2021, he faced issues with copyrighted music in his videos, so he asked his mom for help.
He explained to Benny Blanco in a September 2024 interview with *Hero* magazine that he felt lost and was venting to his mom about his financial struggles. He told her he didn’t know what to do because he wasn’t earning any money. She simply told him to focus on making his own music and to leave her alone, which made him realize he could actually try doing that.
D4vd, who hadn’t played any instruments or formally studied music beyond casual singing, began creating songs using an app on his phone. His music quickly gained popularity online, and after several of his tracks went viral on TikTok, his music career started to flourish.
He finally released his first album, *Withered*, in April 2025, and quickly followed it up with his first tour around the world.
On September 8th, police were called to a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to NBC News sources.
As a huge fan, I was absolutely shocked to hear the news. Apparently, the LAPD discovered remains – tragically, human remains – inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Burke, who we all know as D4vd. The car was registered in Hempstead, Texas, under his full legal name.
According to police, the car was towed to the impound lot because it had been left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.
On September 16th, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that remains found in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was 13 years old when she disappeared.
According to records from the Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by TopMob News on September 17th, the official cause of death is still under investigation. While her body was found on September 8th, authorities believe it had been in the car for a significant amount of time beforehand and was badly decomposed.
After Rivas was found dead, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the singer has been notified and is working with the police, even while continuing his tour.
D4vd’s Seattle concert on September 17th was canceled after his identity was revealed. He is next scheduled to perform on September 19th in San Francisco.
