Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, Dandadan, first appeared on Shonen Jump+ five years ago, on April 6th, 2021. Since then, it’s become incredibly popular, especially thanks to the fantastic anime adaptation by Science SARU. The anime quickly won over audiences with its unique story, charming characters, and stunning animation. The second season ended last September with a major cliffhanger, but even though we have a bit of a wait until Season 3 in 2027, it promises to be amazing as it will cover what many fans consider the best story arc of the series.
With the anime on hold, the manga is marking its 5th anniversary with a special announcement: a stage play! This is the first time the series will be adapted for the stage, and the news was revealed on the anniversary date.
Dandadan Creator Shares a Special Message For Fans After The Announcement

I’m so excited! They’ve finally launched the official website for the Dandadan stage play, and it’s packed with info! Tatsu even left a message saying how shocked and grateful they are that Dandadan is getting adapted for the stage – they never expected it! They emphasized how much this is thanks to all of us fans, and that the cast and crew are amazing. Seriously, Tatsu is encouraging everyone to come see it and experience the thrill of Dandadan live – and I definitely plan to!
The announcement also features messages from other team members. Performances will take place in Tokyo in August 2026 and in Osaka in September 2026. We’ll share more details soon.
Dandadan Season 3 Will Adapt The Best Manga Arc So Far

The new season of the anime is taking a bit longer to produce, but fans of the manga already know it’s going to be full of surprises. The last season ended with a big cliffhanger, introducing a mysterious girl seemingly in control of a massive, Godzilla-like robot and leaving viewers with many unanswered questions. While the anime has always been action-filled, things are about to get even more intense. Season 3 will cover the remaining chapters of the current story arc, plus start a brand new, exciting arc focusing on the Space Globalists.
Throughout the series, especially starting with the Cursed House Arc in Season 2, hints have been dropped about a major upcoming challenge for Momo and her friends. This challenge is connected to ‘The Space Globaists,’ a lengthy story arc in the original manga – lasting 47 chapters – that finally explains the secrets surrounding the mysterious girl and the alien being who influenced the Kito family.
The bad guys have been secretly planning something big, and it’s up to Momo and her friends to stop them – it’ll be their greatest challenge yet! While we wait for Season 3 of the anime, you can watch previous episodes on Crunchyroll and Netflix. If you want to read even more, the manga is available in 18 translated volumes, and you can purchase them or read individual chapters on Viz Media’s official website.
