The first three episodes of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 are now available on Disney+, and they’re full of intense action. The season continues directly after the events of season 1, with Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, now the Mayor of New York City. He’s determined to eliminate all vigilantes and is steadily increasing his control over the city. The new season quickly demonstrates how far he’s willing to go, showing many innocent people being violently arrested by a task force created to target vigilantes.
The show’s tighter focus has made the second season noticeably grimmer than the first, even though all versions of Daredevil—including the earlier Netflix series—have always featured a lot of intense violence. However, the violence in season 2 has been surprising, especially because of a significant improvement to one important character, making her far more compelling than before.
Karen Page Is Finally A Bigger Character

Karen Page played a key role in the original Daredevil series on Netflix, so fans were disappointed to see her appear so little in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. After the death of her friend Foggy in the first episode, she only had a short appearance in episode two and didn’t return until episode nine. This was a significant reduction in her screen time compared to her previous importance, which was frustrating for viewers who appreciated her character.
Season 2 is already showing improvements. Notably, Karen and Matt are back together and living together, which is great news for fans. Beyond that, Karen has a much larger role this season, actively helping Daredevil take down Fisk and oppose the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Her involvement in this fight is becoming especially captivating – and a little worrying, depending on how you look at it.
Daredevil Season 2 Is Setting Up An Interesting New Dynamic

Daredevil, both the character and the series, has always featured a lot of violence, with brutal fights involving both heroes and villains. This season, though, the conflict is different – it’s about whether or not to kill. Surprisingly, it’s Matt Murdock who’s questioning using lethal force, while Karen Page seems more willing to consider it, reversing their typical roles as moral guides.
Karen unexpectedly reveals her strong feelings about what’s happening, even suggesting they actively go after the Anti-Vigilante Task Force since the Task Force is targeting them. While her reaction is understandable given the dangerous situation in New York City, and she may be right about it being a fight for survival, it’s still concerning. With half of the season still to come, her newfound readiness to use lethal force could easily become a major issue, and it looks like that’s the direction the story is heading.
Season 2 Seems To Only Be Getting Darker

Whether it’s Karen’s shift in perspective or the troubling behavior of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, the rest of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 appears to be heading towards even more intense darkness and violence. The show has already been disturbing, with a lot of violence and awful actions—especially from the Task Force towards ordinary people. While violence against anyone is awful, seeing Angela’s aunt, Soledad, forcibly dragged away by her hair was particularly shocking.
The season has a lot more in store, beyond what we’ve already seen with the AVTF, Karen, and Daredevil. For example, Angela was recently revealed to be the MCU’s new White Tiger, meaning she’ll likely become increasingly involved in the season’s conflicts.
I’m so excited to see Karen Page finally getting a bigger story in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 – she’s always been a character who deserved more attention! But honestly, I have a feeling her involvement, and where her head is at now, is going to make this season even more intense and violent than we’re already expecting. It’s like she’s a catalyst for all the darkness to come.
