Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again was an improvement over its first season, receiving more positive reviews. This was mainly because the story was more focused and easier to follow, unlike the first season’s scattered approach. The season successfully centered the conflict between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), mirroring the strong storytelling of earlier Marvel Netflix shows. Viewers also enjoyed the exciting fight scenes and the realistic political issues surrounding the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, and Wilson Bethel’s portrayal of Bullseye was a standout. Despite these strengths, the season wasn’t perfect. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe grew, the show had too many characters, and some important supporting roles didn’t get enough attention.
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again featured so many characters that important storylines were lost, particularly for the female characters. For example, Kirsten McDuffie was sidelined in the legal scenes and didn’t get enough screen time to truly react to Matt Murdock’s return or his double life. The return of Jessica Jones also felt underdeveloped, as she mostly appeared in action scenes and was used to simply explain what was happening in her life as a new mother. Even established characters like Karen Page were reduced to supporting roles; during her trial, the focus was on Matt’s conflict with Fisk, rather than her own experience. To ensure a strong narrative, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 needs to fix this imbalance, especially with an expanding cast.
Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again Will Be Packed With Even More Characters

The second season of Born Again ends with many unanswered questions that the third season needs to address. During Karen Page’s trial, Matt Murdock publicly reveals he is Daredevil, exposing Fisk’s criminal activities and winning her release. But this victory comes at a steep price: Matt is arrested for his past actions as a vigilante and doesn’t fight the charges. He ends the season in jail, alongside the corrupt officers he helped bring down. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk, no longer mayor, makes a deal that forces him to leave New York City. Season 3 will continue both Matt and Fisk’s stories, with Fisk expected to return in some capacity.
On-set photos have revealed that Mike Colter will return as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist, reuniting them with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. This brings the original Defenders team together for the first time since their 2017 team-up. With these additions, the third season of Born Again will feature four main heroes, though one will be in prison and separated from the group for part of the story. The show already has a large cast with ongoing storylines from the first two seasons, and now must balance all of these characters and plots while incorporating the Defenders team.
The upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again is setting up a lot of conflict with returning and new villains. Heather Glenn, after a mental breakdown at the end of Season 2, is now the dangerous Muse, and Bullseye is back with his CIA handler, Mr. Charles (under the direction of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine). Showrunner Dario Scardapane has promised even more new villains, and there’s speculation that The Hand and Elektra might also return, making for a potentially crowded season. Hopefully, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will build on the strengths of Season 2 and avoid its weaknesses.
You can now watch the complete second season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The third season is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
