DC fans have plenty to anticipate in 2026 with the upcoming releases of Supergirl and Clayface, but 2027 looks even more promising. The main DC Universe storyline will continue with a sequel to Superman called Man of Tomorrow, and Matt Reeves’ The Batman saga will finally return with The Batman Part II. Though the sequel has faced several delays and recently sparked some fan concern about potential further postponements, everything is currently on track for its October 2027 release.
At CinemaCon on April 14th, Warner Bros. showcased its upcoming movies. DC projects, including looks at Supergirl and Clayface, were featured. While The Batman Part II wasn’t discussed during the DC presentation, it’s still planned for release in 2027 or later, according to Warner Bros.’ overall film schedule. Some fans were concerned by its omission from the DC segment, but it appears to still be in development.
I don’t usually entertain conspiracy theories, but it’s really strange that Warner Bros.’s major 2027 film, THE BATMAN: PART II, wasn’t mentioned anywhere. It’s quite odd, actually.

I’m staying optimistic, no matter what! I truly believe Matt Reeves is going to give us another incredible Batman movie with Robert Pattinson. I’m really looking forward to it!

Warner Bros. is highlighting all their projects except for “The Batman Part II,” which suggests the film isn’t currently a major focus for them.

It’s strange they’re discussing the upcoming ‘Man of Tomorrow’ movie, which hasn’t even started filming, but remain silent about ‘The Batman – Part Two,’ which is in the same situation. It doesn’t quite make sense.

I’m not sure. The Batman: Part 2 is one of their heavy hitters for next year.

The Batman Part II Remains on Track for 2027 Release
Given the turbulent updates surrounding The Batman Part II, some fans were concerned when it wasn’t a major focus at CinemaCon. However, there’s currently no reason to worry. Production is still on track to begin later this year, and director Matt Reeves is adding new cast members like Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson alongside returning actors. This suggests that DC Studios head James Gunn is pleased with the film’s progress, as he’s stated that no project begins filming without a completed script.
CinemaCon differs from Comic-Con because it showcases a wider range of upcoming movies, not just those geared towards sci-fi and comic book fans. Warner Bros. had a lot to cover during their presentation, which lasted two hours. They focused on films releasing this year, including a seven-minute preview of Dune: Part Three, new footage from Supergirl and Clayface, and a promotion for Tom Cruise’s new movie, Digger. While they did share some details about 2027 releases—like announcing the cast for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum—Warner Bros. had to be selective about what they presented.
Warner Bros. may have chosen not to showcase The Batman Part II during their presentation because footage from Supergirl and Clayface played such a large role. The studio likely wanted to show theater owners the wide range of films they have planned, proving they cater to different audiences. Since Matt Reeves hasn’t begun filming the sequel, there’s no footage ready to share. They could have announced the cast, similar to what they did with Hunt for Gollum, but it wasn’t crucial.
Warner Bros. had plenty of time to present footage from The Batman Part II at CinemaCon. With the film not due out until October 2027, they can easily make it a major focus of their presentation next year. Director Matt Reeves and his team will likely have a complete trailer or other footage ready to show exhibitors, demonstrating why The Batman Part II is expected to be a blockbuster.
