Dead Man’s Wire trailer – a true life tale!

Bill Skarsgård is developing a really interesting body of work that’s taken in horror (It, Nosferatu, Barbarian), action (Boy Kills World, |John Wick 4), superheroes (The Crow, Eternals) and his latest film sees him in a true life story with the release of the Dead Man’s Wire trailer.

What’s the Dead Man’s trailer about?

On the morning of 8th February 1977, Anthony G. “Tony” Kiritsis, 44, entered the office of Richard O. Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun wired with a “dead man’s wire” from the trigger to Hall’s head.
The film tells the unbelievable true story of the stand-off that took the world by storm as Tony demanded $5 million, no charges or prosecution, and a personal apology from the Halls for cheating him out of what he was “owed.”

Behind the scenes …..

The film is directed by Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Gus Van Sant (Milk, Good Will Hunting) and alongside Bill Skarsgård the films stars Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la,  and Academy Award® nominee Colman Domingo and perhaps best of all Academy Award® winner Al Pacino who turns 86 years of age in April and from the trailer it looks like this might be an extended cameo.

Fascinating facts…

Nicolas Cage was set to play Tony Kristis and Werner Herzog was directing, shooting was scheduled to take place in August 2024 but for production reasons it was delayed to early 2025 then Cage couldn’t do it due to his commitment with Amazon Studios and Herzog was not interested in directing the film without Cage, both filmmakers were replaced
DEAD MAN’S WIRE is in cinemas on 20th March 2026
