New rumors about the next Deadpool movie are causing concern for Marvel fans hoping to see the first X-Men film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Currently, there’s a lot of speculation about what Marvel will do after Avengers: Secret Wars potentially reboots the entire universe. Some rumors suggest Black Panther 3 will be next, featuring aliens and the Savage Land. Others claim Marvel will immediately introduce the X-Men, possibly with Sadie Sink as Jean Grey. But now, new rumors surrounding Deadpool are adding to the uncertainty.
Movie insider Jeff Sneider reports that the next Deadpool film might be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to come out after Avengers: Secret Wars. While that’s exciting, it unfortunately means fans might have to wait a little longer for the X-Men to officially join the MCU.

Why Deadpool 4 Rumors is Bad News for the X-Men

Currently, all information about future Marvel movies is based on rumors, and nothing is confirmed until Marvel makes an official announcement. We expect to see a new Black Panther film, movies featuring the X-Men, and more cosmic adventures. However, the release dates and order of these films are still uncertain. One possibility is that a Deadpool movie could kick off the next phase, as his unique style allows him to directly address the audience and playfully explain any changes to the Marvel universe.
While bringing Deadpool into the MCU is exciting, it could unfortunately delay the introduction of the X-Men. With Black Panther’s sequel already in the works, and Deadpool potentially coming first, fans might have to wait even longer to see an X-Men movie. Marvel is taking a more careful approach to its film planning, and it’s unlikely they’ll produce Deadpool 4, Black Panther 3, and an X-Men film simultaneously.
The recently announced Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) release schedule suggests the next major phase won’t begin until 2028. With Avengers: Secret Wars slated for December 2027, it’s unlikely there will be more than two or three big MCU movies in 2028. While Black Panther 3 and Deadpool 4 are expected to be huge hits, rumors of an X-Men movie in the same year seem unrealistic. If these reports are accurate, fans might have to wait three years for the first X-Men film, which is disappointing news for MCU X-Men enthusiasts.
