With Christmas just around the corner, fans of Death in Paradise have something to look forward to! Both the original show and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, will be releasing special episodes soon.
Recently released photos offer a new preview of the Death in Paradise special, showcasing scenes with some of the guest stars who will appear in the episode.
The show features guest appearances by Pearl Mackie (known for Doctor Who), Kate Ashfield (from Shaun of the Dead), James Baxter (of Waterloo Road), Billy Harris (who starred in Ted Lasso), and Josie Lawrence (of Good Omens).
Most of the actors appearing as guests in the show are pictured enjoying themselves on the island of Saint Marie. However, a previous photo showed Lawrence standing on a train platform in the UK.

The show will feature returning characters like DI Mervin Wilson, played by Don Gilet, DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson), Officers Darlene Curtis (Ginny Holder) and Sebastian Rose (Shaquille Ali-Yebuah), as well as Catherine Bordey (Élizabeth Bourgine), and will also welcome some guest stars.

A seemingly perfect office Christmas party goes horribly wrong when four colleagues discover a dead body in the pool of their Caribbean villa the morning after. This 90-minute special details the unfolding mystery.

Detective Inspector Mervin Wilson and his team discovered the murder weapon, but were puzzled to find it had been locked in a drawer at the time of the murder… thousands of miles away in Swindon!
“Stuck in Saint Marie, the team calls on the help of a familiar face to crack the case.

Mervin is too worried about news from his brother, who he recently found, to fully enjoy the Christmas festivities on Saint Marie.
Will Mervin be able to work through his personal problems and find some holiday cheer, both for his team and the whole island?

It’s unclear if Don Warrington will be in the special, as his character, Selwyn Patterson, previously declined a job offer to come back as commissioner.

He’s made a choice, but it’s uncertain what will happen next. Will he stick with it, or change his mind? Will something come along to influence the outcome? I honestly don’t know.
The Death in Paradise Christmas special for 2025 will be shown on BBC One and iPlayer on December 28th at 8:30 PM.
