The critically acclaimed play, The Truth, is returning to London’s West End this summer, and this time it features a cast of well-known television actors.
Ardal O’Hanlon, Stephen Mangan, Sarah Hadland, and Janie Dee will star in the popular comedy series about the complicated relationships and hidden secrets of two couples.
This play, originally written by Florian Zeller and adapted by Christopher Hampton, centers around Michel, who begins an affair with his friend’s wife. As he tries to keep the affair secret, he becomes entangled in a complex series of lies, making it difficult to determine who is telling the truth.
This hilarious comedy, ‘The Truth,’ is full of twists and turns where no one can be trusted and everyone is keeping secrets.
This exciting new production of the acclaimed play explores the secrets and deceptions within our closest relationships – both what we hide from others and from ourselves. It’s a captivating, often surprising, and genuinely funny show that promises a memorable evening at the theatre.

This show will bring the star of “The Split” back to the London stage soon after appearing with Nicola Walker in “The Unicorn” last year. Olivier Award winner Janie Dee is also returning after performing in “Fallen Angels” at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2025.
The comedy writing duo O’Hanlon and Hadland, famous for shows like Father Ted and Miranda, haven’t been involved with a West End production for several years – O’Hanlon since 2023 and Hadland since 2019.
I’m so excited about this new show! Simon Friend, the producer, described it as a really clever play – it starts out seeming like a funny, lighthearted story about infidelity, but quickly becomes much more complex and thought-provoking, all while still being incredibly enjoyable to watch. It sounds amazing!
The moment Florian’s carefully built world falls apart, you understand you’re experiencing the work of a truly masterful writer.

Florian has a knack for surprising you, as he brilliantly demonstrated in our last project together, The Father. He does it again in this production, but with a lot more humor! Thanks to Christopher Hampton’s sharp and clever translation, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast for this exciting return to the West End stage.
The Truth will run from Tuesday 9 June – Saturday 12 September 2026 at the Apollo Theatre.
Tickets will be on sale from Friday 27 February.
