Even though the original Jujutsu Kaisen story finished over a year ago, fans are still getting new content. Gege Akutami surprised everyone by releasing a sequel manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, with illustrations by Yuji Iwasaki, exactly one year after the initial story ended. This sequel is predicted to finish in just a few months and has already proven to be very popular. Plus, a third season of the anime is planned for release as part of the Winter 2026 schedule. But before then, fans have a lot to look forward to in December with several exciting updates about the series.
As the year draws to a close, Jujutsu Kaisen is building excitement with hints of upcoming surprises. Modulo, a currently running series in Weekly Shonen Jump, is very popular, so issues 2 and 3 of 2026 will both feature full-color pages. Fans consistently praise Modulo‘s stunning cover art, adding to the growing anticipation. Plus, with the first volume expected to launch in early January, we might get a sneak peek at the cover before the end of December. But Modulo isn’t the only thing to look forward to – the anime also has a special treat planned for fans.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution Film Has Made Its U.S. Debut

The film held a special IMAX screening for fans in the US on December 3rd, 2025, before its official release across the country on December 5th, 2025. It combines the story of the Shibuya Incident with the first two episodes of Season 3. The new season will cover the Extermination and Perfect Preparation Arcs, showing what happens after the devastating Shibuya Incident and the resulting chaos in the Jujutsu world.
The first two episodes conclude the Extermination Arc, featuring a thrilling fight between Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori, and introducing Naoya Zenin, a well-known antagonist from Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen Will Take the Stage During the Jump Festa

Jump Festa is a huge anime and manga convention that mainly showcases titles from Shueisha’s popular Shonen magazines, including Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, Saikyo Jump, and the Shonen Jump+ online platform. It’s a major event for anime announcements, making it highly anticipated by fans worldwide. This year’s Jump Festa will take place on December 21st and 22nd, and Jujutsu Kaisen is confirmed to be featured.
Although the Jump Festa website hasn’t revealed any big news yet, the voice actors for Yuji Itadori (Junya Enoki), Megumi Fushiguro (Yuma Uchida), Yuta Okkotsu (Megumi Ogata), and Choso (Daisuke Namikawa) will be at the event. They’ll be talking about the next season of the show and the original manga, and will also meet and greet fans.
