Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to Get Limited Return to Theaters Ahead of Part 2

The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will be back in select theaters this summer for a limited time. Demon Slayer has already been incredibly popular in cinemas, with each film breaking box office records in Japan. Infinity Castle especially became a huge hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing Japanese films internationally last year and enjoying a surprisingly long run in theaters.

The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle had an incredibly long run in Japanese theaters, lasting for nine months throughout 2025 and into this year. Now that it’s finally leaving cinemas, it’s scheduled for a Blu-ray and DVD release in Japan. Before that happens, however, the film will return to theaters for one week as part of a special event highlighting Japan’s biggest box office hits. More details are available below.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Returns to Theaters in Japan

The anime film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has been named the #1 Anime Film at the Cinema Grand Prix in Japan. As a result, it will return to theaters across the region from June 12th to 18th, alongside other winning films like Sinners and Wicked: For Good. It’s a quick return – the film was only recently taken out of theaters – and a great opportunity for fans to see it on the big screen again. Plus, it will be available to purchase on home video in Japan later this July.

With the theatrical run of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle now complete, the Blu-ray and DVD will be available on July 29th. Currently, there’s no news about when the film will be released for home viewing internationally, or if it will be available on streaming platforms in Japan or elsewhere. However, a release is coming soon.

When Does Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Release?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is the first of three planned movies based on the Infinity Castle story arc from the original manga. The film ends with a major cliffhanger, leaving many battles unresolved and hinting at further character deaths. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet on when the next movie will be released, so fans will have to wait to see how the story continues.

The highly anticipated sequel, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2, has been delayed. Ufotable recently announced its future projects and confirmed the film won’t be released in 2026 as originally planned. Fans can now expect to see it no sooner than 2027. With the first film becoming available for home viewing, more information about the sequel should be released soon.
