I’m so excited for AnimeJapan 2026, happening March 28th and 29th in Japan! They’ve started announcing what series will be featured, and thankfully, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is on the list! I’m really hoping we get some big news about the future of Demon Slayer there, but honestly, I’m a little worried. They didn’t really show anything new at Jump Festa last December, so fingers crossed this event is different!
The film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has been incredibly popular for Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll, remaining exclusively in theaters for over a year. It looks like this theatrical run will continue through 2026, meaning fans likely won’t hear about Blu-ray, DVD, or streaming options anytime soon, and updates on future films in the series are also uncertain.
When Does Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Come Out?
Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for the next two movies in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy. The first film is doing so well in theaters that the studio isn’t feeling any pressure to announce dates or release the film on streaming services. Some early reports suggest the next movie might not arrive until 2027, as it’s still being made.
Given the immense effort put into the first Demon Slayer film and the high expectations of fans, it’s understandable that Aniplex and Ufotable are taking their time with future installments. As one of the most popular and successful anime series in recent years, Demon Slayer has set a high bar, and there’s a lot of pressure to deliver sequels that live up to its success.
