Demon Slayer Just Confirmed a Disappointing Infinity Castle Part 2 Update

The first movie in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy was a huge success worldwide, kicking off an incredible battle against the demons. It was first released in Japan on July 18, 2025, and then came to U.S. theaters on September 12th. The studio had previously announced that the Infinity Castle Arc – considered the best and longest part of the series – would be adapted into three films. This first movie ends with a cliffhanger, promising a big fight in the next installment and leaving some mysteries unsolved. While the Demon Slayers are stuck in an endless maze, Muzan Kibutsuji, the original demon, is trying to reverse the effects of a drug Tamayo gave him.

It’s been a long time since the first part came out, and fans are really hoping for news about the sequel. Unfortunately, the studio hasn’t said anything about when it will be released, or even given a small preview. While the sequel is being made, there’s no telling how long it will take Ufotable to finish it. Many anime and manga fans gather at a big convention every December, and Demon Slayer was featured there again this year. This got people excited about potential announcements, but the update they received was disappointing.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Won’t Announce Any Major Update on Jump Festa 2026

Jump Festa is a huge annual celebration of anime, manga, and games hosted by Shueisha. It’s where fans get a first look at exciting new projects, experience interactive displays, and find exclusive merchandise. The event primarily highlights popular Shonen series from Shueisha’s magazines like Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, Saikyo Jump, and the Shonen Jump+ online platform. This year, Demon Slayer will be featured on the Super Stage – a special showcase reserved for the most well-known Shonen series, alongside hits like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and others.

The official Jump Festa website recently announced that the Demon Slayer stage event on December 21st will feature a performance by the film’s voice actors, including Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), Takahiro Sakurai (Giyu Tomioka), and Saori Hayami (Shinobu Kocho). While Demon Slayer is confirmed to be at the event, there’s no word yet on whether any new announcements will be made.

Shows like My Hero Academia and Dandadan have already hinted at big news for fans, but Demon Slayer won’t be doing the same. This means the upcoming Super Stage event will only feature a live performance. While Demon Slayer has consistently released new seasons and movies since 2019, things might be different this time around. The Infinity Castle film received a lot of praise for its stunning animation, which was likely challenging for the studio to create quickly.
