The popular anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is preparing for its next big movie, which continues the Infinity Castle storyline. To keep fans engaged, a special anime release is planned while they wait. The first Infinity Castle film is also becoming available for home viewing, almost a year after its initial release in Japan. However, this means the anticipation for the third and final movie in the Infinity Castle trilogy is growing even stronger.
Although it will probably take a while for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2 to come to theaters, fans in Japan will soon have another way to experience the anime. The voice actors of Demon Slayer recently performed a live stage reading of important scenes from the Hashira Training Arc at a special event called “Demon Slayer Banquet – Hashira Training Arc.” You can watch a trailer for the event below.
Demon Slayer Reveals New Twist on Hashira Training Arc
A special live event based on the “Hashira Training Arc” of Demon Slayer was recently held in Japan, featuring the voice actors performing on stage. While it will be released on home video in Japan on May 27th, there are currently no plans for a release outside of Japan. However, with a broader home video launch planned for later this summer, fans can expect more Demon Slayer content to become available soon.
The Blu-ray and DVD of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will be released in Japan on July 29th. While there’s no news yet about when it will be available for home viewing outside of Japan, it’s expected to start streaming internationally soon after. If things go as planned, we might be able to watch it online before the end of the year.
When Will Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Come Out?
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle had an unusually long run in Japanese theaters – nine months! This is a significant achievement for any film, but especially for an anime movie. Because of this success, it seems there won’t be a quick release for the next Demon Slayer film, meaning fans will likely have to wait a considerable amount of time. Ufotable, the animation studio, recently revealed their future projects and unfortunately confirmed that the next film isn’t expected until after 2026.
I recently saw that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2 is in development at Ufotable, though it’s a bit further out than their 2026 projects. It looks like we might see it in 2027, but honestly, that’s not a bad wait – especially since it would only be two years after the last sequel. It feels like a while, but I have a feeling it’ll be worth it.
