Demon Slayer Unveils New Look At Underrated Girl Ahead of Her Biggest Fight in Infinity Castle

The Demon Slayer movie was a huge hit last year, making the series even more popular. Now, the story of the Infinity Castle will be told in three movies, focusing on the battles against the Upper Moons. This is the longest part of the manga, and after it, the final fight against Muzan will begin.
The first movie covers the fights with Akaza, Kaigaku, and Doma. Doma is the only one of these villains who defeated Shinobu, and the movie ends with a cliffhanger, revealing that Kanao Tsuyuri will be his next opponent. Kanao hasn’t been a major focus of the story until now, but the second movie promises to be her most important battle yet.

To celebrate Kanao’s birthday on May 19th, the official Demon Slayer anime account shared a cute new illustration of her! The artwork shows Kanao in a chibi style, wearing a light-colored outfit and holding a bouquet of pink flowers. Fans can also find new merchandise inspired by the birthday illustration, now available on the Ufotable webshop. This comes as fans eagerly anticipate seeing her in action against Doma.

Demon Slayer Is All Set to Feature Kanao’s Fight Against Doma

The first book in the series shows us what happened in Shinobu’s past and how strongly she wanted to defeat Doma, the demon responsible for her sister Kanae’s death. Even as a powerful Hashira, she couldn’t possibly defeat an Upper Rank Two demon on her own. Doma quickly overpowered her, and Kanao watched as Shinobu was defeated. But before she died, Shinobu used a hand signal to send Kanao an important message. We don’t know what the message is yet, but Doma notices Kanao isn’t fighting back and wonders if it’s because of that signal.

Kanao is a talented Demon Slayer and Shinobu’s protégé. But defeating Doma seems nearly impossible, especially because he can instantly freeze anyone who gets close. Shinobu realized she was in serious danger the moment he attacked – it happened so fast that even she couldn’t dodge it. She inhaled his Blood Demon Art, which caused a critical injury right at the start of their fight.

Kanao is facing a tough battle, particularly because Doma can create and control ice with incredible power. The next part of the movie will show how she intends to defeat him, and will also introduce a surprising helper who has a history with the villain.
