Dick Van Dyke sparked concern after dropping out of an event last-minute due to illness.
Instead of hosting their Vandy Camp event together with his wife Arlene Silver this past Saturday, the 99-year-old actor made a sudden cancellation at the last moment.
At the Arlene & Dick Van Dyke Theater located within Malibu High School, his wife, who is 53 years old, shared the news with those present and clarified that the renowned Tony Award winner wasn’t feeling well on this particular day.
In my opening remarks, I made it clear to the crowd that I am not the stereotypical Van Dyke they may have anticipated.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but I regret to say that Dick won’t be able to join us in our celebration today.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of a legendary figure on the big screen sharing insights about the challenges of approaching nearly a century old.
The makeup artist went on to say: “At nearly a century and a half old, some days are great, others not so much.
She mentioned that it’s unfortunate because today isn’t a great day for him, as he’s under the weather and unable to join us.
However, Van Dyke did still make an appearance on a livestream on the same day.
Silver expressed a high level of certainty that Van Dyke will personally attend the upcoming Vandy Camp event.
