As a huge Marvel fan, I’m not surprised to see the franchise still going strong heading into 2026! The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day absolutely blew up – it broke all previous records for trailer views in its first 24 hours, which is incredible. And when you add that to the massive numbers the four Avengers: Doomsday trailers got, plus all the excitement around the other Marvel movies coming out this year and next, it’s clear Marvel is really capturing the public’s attention right now. It’s a fantastic time to be a Marvel movie lover!
As a huge Marvel fan, I’m already getting excited about what comes after Avengers: Secret Wars! Everyone’s saying it’s going to be the biggest superhero movie ever when it comes out in December 2027, but Marvel isn’t stopping there. They’re already working on Phase 7, and a lot of us think this is where we’ll really see the X-Men take center stage. The Multiverse Saga has hinted at it, with the X-Men becoming more important in a few key films, and Phase 7 feels like the start of what some are calling the ‘Mutant Saga’. While Marvel’s keeping things under wraps for now, I’ve heard whispers that projects are being discussed and planned behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to find out more!
According to The Wrap, Marvel Studios has adjusted its release schedule for future movies in Phase 7, adding and removing dates for projects that haven’t been publicly announced yet.
A film originally planned for February 18, 2028, has been delayed, and a different movie will now come out on July 28, 2028. Another film, previously set for release on November 10, 2026, has been canceled. Looking ahead, new Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are now scheduled for May 4 and July 13, 2029.

Marvel Comics
Following the release of Secret Wars, Marvel Studios has many projects planned that could fill the currently open slots for Phase 7 of their cinematic universe. One of the first movies expected is Black Panther 3, which is currently being developed with director and writer Ryan Coogler, fresh off his Academy Award win for Sinners. Although most of the cast hasn’t been announced yet, Denzel Washington – also an Oscar winner – has been confirmed to appear in an as-yet-unspecified role.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing its first X-Men movie, introducing fresh takes on iconic characters like Cyclops and Jean Grey into the main MCU timeline. Jake Schreier, who’s directing the Thunderbolts movie, will direct, and Michael Lesslie, a writer from the Hunger Games series, is writing the script. The film will likely focus on a new group of mutants, and there’s talk that Marvel might feature villains like Mr. Sinister as their adversaries.

Besides these upcoming films, there’s potential for future installments of The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, Deadpool, and a movie based on Midnight Suns. Fans are also eagerly waiting for updates on the long-delayed Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali, which was first announced in 2019 and has been put on hold. Despite any challenges, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to continue telling stories for many years to come, entering its third decade in 2028.
