This upcoming week brings us a fresh, free update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, titled Emotional Rescue. Confirmed by Gameloft, this update is set to debut on August 20th, and it promises a wealth of new content for players to explore. As we’ve been anticipating, the main focus of this update will be centered around Pixar’s Inside Out films. Players can look forward to encountering Joy and Sadness from the series, exploring a brand-new realm, and even assisting them in repairing their control console. Additionally, players will aid in inspiring Riley as part of the storyline.
Upon finishing assignments in the fresh Inside Out Realm, players can now invite Joy and Sadness into their personal Valley. This expansion offers additional tasks like addressing the Valley’s emotional fluctuations. Both characters have friendship rewards to unlock, with recent trailers showcasing distinctive styles tailored for each character. For instance, advancing friendship levels with Sadness will grant a pair of overalls in her signature blue color, complete with a storm cloud pattern. You can view the new trailer below.
In August this year, Disney Dreamlight Valley will once again host a Memory Mania event, reminiscent of Inside Out 2. This exciting event, taking place from August 27th to September 9th, offers players a chance to reclaim the rewards they missed out on last year, such as critters representing each of Riley’s emotions. What’s more, this year’s event will introduce new rewards not available in 2024, like hockey equipment themed around Riley’s team, the Fog Horns. If you missed out last time or have already completed it, this event promises something for everyone!
It was thought that the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley update might bring all five emotions of Riley from the original Inside Out, but it appears that won’t happen. This is consistent with past updates, which typically only introduce one or two new villagers. There’s a chance we may see the remaining emotions added in a future update, although nothing is certain. The storyline development of Joy and Sadness leaving their home Realm should make for an intriguing narrative progression within the game.
It appears that the latest trailer for Disney Dreamlight Valley didn’t disclose any additional information about this month’s updates. While we know a new Star Path is set to coincide with the Emotional Rescue update, the specific theme remains under wraps. Gameloft did hint at some upcoming features in August, but more details will be unveiled later.
It’s worth mentioning that an earlier version of today’s trailer, uploaded by Gameloft, incorrectly stated that the update would be released on the 13th of August. However, players should note that the actual release date is on the 20th.
