Good news for Disney and YouTube TV subscribers! They’ve reached a deal after a two-week standoff, meaning shows and sports from Disney-owned channels like ABC and ESPN are back on YouTube TV.
Disney and ESPN leaders Alan Bergman, Dana Walden, and Jimmy Pitaro announced a new agreement that shows their dedication to providing great entertainment and adapting to modern viewing habits. This deal acknowledges the high quality of Disney’s content and gives YouTube TV customers more options. They’re happy that Disney networks are back on YouTube TV in time for viewers to enjoy this weekend’s programming, including college football.
YouTube and Disney have reached an agreement that will maintain the value of YouTube’s service for viewers and allow for more flexible offers in the future. A YouTube spokesperson said they regret any disruption this caused and thanked subscribers for their patience during the negotiations.
Disney Channels Are Returning to YouTube TV
YouTube TV customers are familiar with channels temporarily disappearing during contract negotiations. These disagreements are usually resolved quickly, typically within a week. But a recent dispute between Disney and YouTube TV lasted 15 days – the longest Disney channels have ever been unavailable on the service.
ESPN has recently updated its streaming app, and now YouTube TV subscribers get access to its premium ‘Unlimited’ tier for free. Disney+ and Hulu are also available through certain YouTube plans, alongside other channels grouped by interest.
YouTube TV subscribers will appreciate getting ESPN Unlimited content directly within the platform. This means they won’t need to switch to the ESPN app to watch things like WWE pay-per-view events – everything will be in one place.
YouTube TV is bringing Disney channels and your saved cloud recordings back within the next 24 hours. That means you’ll be able to watch college football this Saturday and NFL games on Sunday without interruption.
