Disney is famous for its animated movies, but the studio has also produced highly popular and critically acclaimed animated series like Gravity Falls, The Owl House, and Amphibia on the Disney Channel. Though many of these shows have ended, one actor suggests a return could be possible, potentially in the form of a movie, meaning the fight against evil might not be over at Disney.
The popular animated series Star Vs. The Forces of Evil concluded in 2019 after four seasons and nearly 150 episodes. Despite its successful run, fans are eager for more, and a recent interview with voice actor Adam McArthur suggests a comeback might be possible. McArthur hinted at the potential for a movie adaptation, which could bring his character, Marco Diaz, back to the screen. He expressed optimism, noting the current trend of revivals and encouraging viewers to continue watching on Disney+, implying there’s a good chance the franchise could return.
A Revival is Brewing

Earlier this year, Daron Nefcy, the creator of Star Vs. The Forces of Evil, expressed her hope for the show’s return. She’s been actively encouraging Disney to create more episodes, saying she’s happy the show still has a dedicated fanbase and believes that continued interest could lead to a revival. She’s repeatedly told Disney she’d love to continue the story and encourages fans to let them know they want more too.
We recently talked to voice actor Adam McArthur about potentially continuing the series. He shared that he often hears from fans about how much the show meant to them, and he believes it was a truly unique program for Disney. He compared it to Gravity Falls, noting that many of those fans then discovered Star vs. the Forces of Evil. He described it as a special era for Disney television, which paved the way for shows like Amphibia and The Owl House – shows that told ongoing, episode-based stories, something not often seen in children’s animation. He expressed hope that they’ll be able to revisit the series someday, and he’s eager to see what Star and Marco are up to, sharing he has ideas about the fate of magic, the true villain, and potential future storylines.
