Following the unexpected release of downloadable content for *Donkey Kong Bananza*, many players thought Nintendo would slow down support for the game. However, Nintendo is continuing to add content to Donkey Kong’s 3D adventure. Monthly in-game events featuring Donkey Kong and Pauline will begin on October 28th, offering players unique rewards. Because these events are only available for a limited time, players will need to participate to earn the rewards before they disappear. Please note that the *DK Island & Emerald Rush* DLC is required to participate in these events.
The *Donkey Kong Bananza* event starts October 28th and lasts until November 4th. Throughout the week, players can enjoy a special game mode called Emerald Rush to win prizes. The first event, Chip Fever, takes place on DK Island. In Chip Fever, players need to collect ore using perks that rely on Chips, like Chip Hoarder or Chip Negotiator. Here’s the schedule for when Chip Fever will be available during *Donkey Kong Bananza*.
- North America: 1:00 AM PDT / 2:00 AM MDT / 3:00 AM CDT / 4:00 AM EDT
- Europe: 9:00 AM CET / 10:00 AM EET
- Asia/Oceania: 5 :00 PM JST / 4:00 PM AWST / 7:00 PM AEDT
Okay, so I just found out that if you do really well in the Chip Fever event, you can unlock two new figures for DK Island – Kong Bananza and Enguard. Apparently, they’re the first ones in a bigger set that’s coming out. As far as I can tell, they don’t actually *do* anything in the game, like give you extra power-ups or anything. But hey, it’s still cool to collect them and show off to your friends, right?

Chip Fever is the first of two upcoming events. Nintendo hasn’t shared details about the second event yet, but says they’ll announce them soon. Players who have bought the DLC can start enjoying Chip Fever on October 28th. Because the challenge doesn’t rely on luck, you can practice and replay it as many times as you want to improve your score.
Limited-time events are a regular part of many games, often happening during holidays or anniversaries – like the ‘Fortnitemares’ event in *Fortnite*. However, making this event available only to players who purchase the *DK Island & Emerald Rush* DLC feels unfair and misleading to fans. Given the cost of the DLC and the mixed reactions to it, it’s reasonable to ask if this event is simply a way to encourage more people to buy it. While some players didn’t think the DLC was worth the price originally, the event might change their minds if it offers enough compelling rewards.
