Julian Gerighty, who recently said that Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is looking very promising, has left Ubisoft. He was previously the executive producer for the game at Massive Entertainment. He’s now moving on to Battlefield Studios, where he’ll be working after the release of last year’s Battlefield 6.
Massive Entertainment shared on Twitter that they were sad to see Julian Gerighty leave, but celebrated his lasting impact. They promised to continue developing the worlds he helped create for players for many years to come, adding a heartfelt message: “Julian, your contributions will always be remembered here – once an Agent, always an Agent.”
Gerighty announced his departure online, saying it was time for him to move on to a new challenge. He expressed confidence in the future of The Division and excitement for players to see what the development teams have been creating.
In 2023, Julian Gerighty took on the role of series executive producer while also directing Star Wars Outlaws. He also announced The Division 3 around that time, but no further information about the game has been released since.
It’s understandable to wonder about the project’s progress, especially considering its significance. There’s a lot on the horizon for The Division 2, including content from Year 8, a new Realism Mode in the Anniversary Season, and the Survivors mode. Plus, The Division Resurgence is coming to mobile devices. Massive Entertainment’s message? “Everything is fine.”
The talented teams who created the worlds for both The Division 2 and Survivors are still working on them, and remain dedicated to their future development. Creative director Yannick Banchereau continues to lead The Division 2, hinting at more exciting content to come. Survivors is headed by Magnus Jansén, who previously created the popular Survival DLC for The Division 1, a game that helped establish the extraction genre.
We don’t yet know when The Division 3 will be released or on what platforms. However, we’ll find out more about the upcoming content for The Division 2 in March. There’s also a chance a Definitive Edition of the original The Division is coming, as hinted by an advertisement at a recent event in Japan.
Once an Agent, always an Agent. We’re thankful for everything you gave this universe. You’ll always be part of it. Good luck at @EA_DICE, @jgerighty 🧡
