Dragon Ball: Age 1000 Game Is Officially Xenoverse 3

Following much anticipation, Bandai Namco has officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, previously known by the codename “Age 1000” in leaks and rumors. Revealed at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, Xenoverse 3 is the sequel fans have been hoping for, though early previews suggest it will be quite different from previous installments. The game promises a fresh experience with a new world, characters, and storyline, hinting at a bright future for this action RPG adventure series.

A new Dragon Ball Z game, initially teased in early 2026 and tentatively titled Age 1000, introduced a mysterious new character. The character’s design resembled Gohan’s Great Saiyaman outfit, and they demonstrated the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan. A Capsule Corp. logo on their attire further fueled speculation about the game’s story and features.

Xenoverse 3’s First Trailer Shows Off A New Adventure Set Many Years After The End Of Dragon Ball Z

Okay, so the new trailer totally blew me away! It opens with this incredible, futuristic Tokyo, and it’s set about 300 years after everything that happened in Dragon Ball Z. Then we get a really energetic look at the characters, following a brand new character as they check out the city. The art style is really similar to Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes, which I loved. And get this – we see Piccolo, of course, but there’s also someone who really looks like Bulma, so I’m guessing she’s going to play a big role in the story!

The new game draws heavily from the original concepts and designs of Akira Toriyama, building on the world of Dragon Ball much like Xenoverse 2 did. Even after his passing, Toriyama’s influence is clear in the game’s direction. The trailer focuses on a new character, Bret, who transforms into a hero to resolve a city-wide problem. He appears to be training with Gamma 1, the android from the Super Hero movie.

The game seems to offer extensive customization for your character’s suit, suggesting a detailed RPG experience similar to other games in the Xenoverse series. The trailer then shifts to standard 3D gameplay, showcasing the white-haired character previously seen in the Age 1000 trailer. These two characters, who may be allies or rivals, work together to address a crisis. The trailer concludes with a glimpse of a customizable home base, followed by a chaotic encounter with a character resembling Bulma, mirroring Goku and Bulma’s first meeting in the original Dragon Ball manga.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Is Set To Launch In 2027 On Several Systems

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 isn’t expected to launch until 2027, so it will be a while before players can get their hands on it. However, this gives the developers time to share more about the game beforehand, like gameplay trailers or details about its features. With the game now officially titled Xenoverse 3, expect a steady stream of information about the story, how it plays, and everything else fans want to know.

Players can expect to learn more in 2026 about the design choices for the game’s characters—which are inspired by Bulma—and the stories behind those featured in the announcement trailer. The game is scheduled to launch next year on most current platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. While a Nintendo Switch 2 version hasn’t been announced, it’s still a possibility before the game releases in 2027.

The latest installment in this popular RPG series is fantastic news for fans of Dragon Ball Z. Plus, with more downloadable content planned for other Dragon Ball games, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 could signal a fresh start for video games based on Akira Toriyama’s incredible work.
