Fans have a lot to look forward to with Dragon Ball Super, as both a remake and a brand new anime series are currently in production, with even more projects potentially planned for the future. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, the series is making a highly anticipated return later this year. We’ll first see a remake, followed by a completely new story arc, but there’s more on the way!
Dragon Ball recently updated its website with details on projects announced at the Genkidamatsuri event (as noticed by @Venixys on X). However, it’s the final sentence that’s generating the most buzz. While these projects were originally tied to the series’ 40th anniversary, the update hints at even more to come, promising that “Super” new developments will continue after the anniversary, encouraging fans to stay tuned.
New Dragon Ball Super Anime Teased After Remake and Galactic Patrol Arc
Fans of Dragon Ball Super have a lot to look forward to! The series is returning this fall with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, a beautifully updated remake of the original Battle of Gods arc. After that, a brand new anime, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, will premiere. This new series will cover the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc from the Dragon Ball Super manga, continuing the story after the Tournament of Power.
Fans were excited to hear about the new Dragon Ball Super anime projects, and many believe these are just the beginning of more releases. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus could be the first of several remakes, potentially improving older episodes from arcs like Resurrection F, Future Trunks, and the Universe 6 saga. However, the biggest hope is that Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is the first of many completely new projects that are planned for the future.
Dragon Ball Super’s Anime Could Continue With Granolah Arc

The possibility of more Dragon Ball Super anime is even more thrilling now that the manga is being used as source material. The ‘Galactic Patrol Prisoner’ arc continued the story after the original anime ended, and now it’s finally getting an animated adaptation. Fans are hoping this leads to a full adaptation of the ‘Granolah the Survivor’ arc, with a new anime season to follow in the future.
Unfortunately, it will likely be a while before we get any news about future Dragon Ball Super projects. The Beerus remake isn’t coming out until later this fall, and there’s still no release date for Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. This means any information about what comes next is still a long way off. Even so, it’s still great to be anticipating new anime after such a long break.
