Good news for Dragon Quest fans! While Dragon Quest 12, now titled Beyond Dreams, is being completely rebuilt and won’t be out for a while, Square Enix also revealed a brand new Dragon Quest Monsters game.
As expected, details about Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World were limited, although the trailer did briefly showcase the monsters players can expect. We also got a first look at the game’s two new main characters, both young women, who appear to be playable throughout the adventure.
I’m so excited! Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is finally coming to a lot of platforms – PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Switch, and the new Nintendo Switch 2! They haven’t said when exactly it’ll be released, just “coming soon,” but Yuji Horii, the creator of Dragon Quest, is hoping it’ll be out before Dragon Quest 12. Fingers crossed we get a more specific release date soon, even if it’s sometime next year!
Switch owners can soon play Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age. This updated version of the popular 2017 game Dragon Quest 11 includes extra character stories, Japanese voiceovers, a beautiful orchestral soundtrack, and even a classic 2D game mode. You can find more information here.
