Square Enix has kicked off a new series of trailers for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, and the first one showcases the main character you create at the start of the game.
The main character is a young man from Pilchard Bay, a small fishing village on Estard Island. He enjoys a quiet life helping his father with fishing, but he frequently dreams of adventures beyond the ocean.
The updated version of Dragon Quest VII, called Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, will be available worldwide on February 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store).
