The popular series Dungeon Crawler Carl is expanding! Besides a live-action TV show in development, two video games based on the series are now in the works. Both games have received significant funding, and we’re sharing the latest details about what players can anticipate.
The crowdfunding campaign for Renegade Game Studios’ Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game and Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable has been incredibly successful, raising over $5 million – far exceeding its $250,000 goal! With 30 days still to go, the total could climb even higher, and backers get a lot for their support. The Roleplaying Game features over 30 playable races and a wide variety of classes with familiar options, while Unstoppable includes the new Dungeon Crawler Carl edition of John D. Clair’s popular game, which can be played solo or with a friend. Let’s start by taking a closer look at the Roleplaying Game.
What Does The Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game Include?

The Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game offers two ways to start: a Starter Set and a Core Rulebook. The Starter Set teaches you the ropes as you navigate the dangers of Borant’s World Dungeon. The Core Rulebook, a comprehensive 300+ page guide, covers levels 3-5 and provides everything you need for detailed character creation and campaign building. A GM Screen is also available to help game masters run the game. For even more content, a Season Pass will deliver six digital content drops between November 2026 and October 2027 for subscribers.
If you’re interested in the roleplaying game itself, you can support the project at different levels. For $40, the ‘Tunnel Tuner’ tier gets you digital copies of the Starter Set and Core Rulebook. At $55, the ‘Bronze Tier’ includes those digital files plus a physical Starter Set, rules and guides for creating characters, a toolkit for game masters, a tutorial atlas, a pre-made scenario, ready-to-play character sheets (including Carl and Donut), blank character sheets, 5 map posters, 41 tokens, and an 8-piece dice set.
We also have the Silver Tier for $60, which includes the core rulebook, everything you need to create a custom adventure, pre-made adventures, locations, and villains. It also includes guidance on building your own game world, a digital version of the rulebook, and all unlocked bonus content. For $150, the Gold Tier includes the Starter Set and Core Rulebook in both digital and physical formats, plus a character journal, a Game Master screen, a unique dice set featuring Carl’s Enchanted Big Boi Boxers, a Princess Donut Tiara dice set, and an RPG Season Pass.

While there are several pledge levels with different rewards, I want to focus on the Legendary RPG All-In Tier, which costs $399. This tier includes everything from the lower RPG tiers, plus three special dice bags themed around the game’s characters, and three sets of beautifully designed roleplaying miniatures. The campaign also announced partnerships with Roll20 and Alchemy to bring the game to virtual tabletop platforms.
What Does Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable Include?

Okay, so next up is Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable! In this one, you’ll be tackling floors 1 through 3 of the World Dungeon, either by yourself or with a friend in co-op. There are four difficulty settings, including a seriously tough ‘unbeatable’ challenge. Plus, you can really customize your playthrough with tons of different Crawlers to choose from, mixing up races and classes, and facing off against random bosses. It means every time you play, it feels fresh and new!
Beyond the main game, there are two expansions to enhance your experience. The Iron Tangle Expansion adds a new challenge with the fourth floor of the World Dungeon, introducing fresh strategies, allies, and improvements to help you face new enemies. Crawler Chaos Expansion lets you play as a variety of new characters called Crawlers – including Katia, Imani, Prepotente, and Archie – or even create your own unique Crawler. Both expansions involve battling powerful bosses within the World Dungeon, earning experience, and collecting valuable rewards, all while enjoying the world you already know and love.
With Unstoppable, you have a few options. The Unstoppable Tier costs $60 and includes the main game plus the Crawler Chaos expansion. For $130, the Unstoppable All-In Tier gives you everything from the previous tier, plus the Iron Tangle expansion, two player mats, and one cooperative play mat.
