Update [April 16, 2026, 3:45 AM]: It seems like things are getting better quickly, which is good news.
Around 10 PM EDT (7 PM PDT, 3 AM BST), many PlayStation Network users reported problems, but the issues appear to be resolving themselves after about half an hour.
We had some initial trouble launching games that require a constant internet connection, but things are improving now. We’re also noticing similar reports from other players online.
Although a few minor problems might still exist – and it appears several servers experienced outages around the same time – we expect things to get consistently better now.
We’ll update again if anything particularly dramatic occurs.
Many PlayStation users are reporting problems with the PlayStation Network (PSN). Players with PS5 and PS4 consoles are currently unable to play games online with others.
We successfully logged into the console during testing, but we ran into problems when trying to play games that require an internet connection.
Sony hasn’t officially said anything about the problem yet, but it looks like a broader issue affecting the internet. Over the past hour, several other online services – like stores and gaming sites – have also experienced disruptions.
We’ll let you know if there are any significant changes to this story. For now, please be patient, and we hope everything gets sorted out quickly.
