As a movie fan, I’m excited to share that one of the all-time classic historical epics is finding a new home on Peacock! Starting next month, you’ll be able to stream it there.
Starting May 1st, the acclaimed 2017 film will return to streaming on Peacock. It was previously available on Prime Video, but Peacock will now be the only place to watch Christopher Nolan’s powerful war story.
Dunkirk Is One of the Biggest Historical Epics Ever
I still think about Dunkirk all the time – it’s one of the most gripping movies I’ve ever seen, even after nine years! Christopher Nolan really nailed it with this depiction of the massive rescue at Dunkirk, where everyday civilians sailed their boats to save those British soldiers trapped by the Nazis. It’s amazing how the film weaves together so many different stories happening at the same time, and it’s packed with great actors – Tom Hardy is fantastic as one of the pilots, and you’ve also got Barry Keoghan, Cillian Murphy, Harry Styles, and the always-brilliant Kenneth Branagh all involved.
While not Christopher Nolan’s most critically acclaimed film, Dunkirk was generally well-liked, particularly for its impressive scope and visuals. It received an average IMDb score of 7.8 out of 10, suggesting positive audience reactions. The film was also a huge commercial success, earning $526 million globally on a budget of just $100 million – more than five times its production cost.
Though often talked about less than Christopher Nolan’s other films, his 2017 movie Dunkirk still holds up incredibly well, even after almost a decade. With Dunkirk now available on Peacock, viewers can revisit it while anticipating Nolan’s upcoming work.
Dunkirk Precedes Christopher Nolan’s Next Epic
Just as Christopher Nolan’s latest film is about to be released, his previous epic, Dunkirk, is now available on Peacock. This new film tells the classic story of Odysseus’s long journey home after the Trojan War, and stars a fantastic cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, and many others.
I’m really excited about The Odyssey! It’s a total departure for Nolan, being his first foray into the world of myths and legends. Honestly, it sounds like his most fantastical film yet, which is saying something! And it’s coming just three years after he finally won an Oscar – it feels like he’s really embracing new creative territory.
Dunkirk will be available to stream on Peacock beginning May 1.
