Assassin’s Creed Hexe Development Doesn’t Seem Like It’s Going Too Well

Assassin’s Creed Hexe, first revealed in 2022, has reportedly lost its second director, suggesting the game’s development is facing difficulties.

I just saw on LinkedIn that Benoit Richer has left his position as game director at Ubisoft Montréal. It’s interesting to see where he’ll end up next – he did some great work there!

This comes after significant leadership changes at Ubisoft as the company reorganizes to improve how it operates.

Clint Hocking initially led the game’s development, but he left the project after working on it for several years.

According to a recent report from Insider Gaming, another 50 employees have been removed from the development team working on AC Hexe.

I’m hearing from people in the know that the developers who were working on the game have been moved over to Ubisoft’s Interproject team. Basically, they’re not working on the game anymore.

This is a program for Ubisoft developers who don’t currently have a project assigned to them. They have three months to find a new project, or their employment could be at risk.

According to Insider Gaming, the game Hexe is undergoing a significant shift in its approach. Instead of focusing on traditional magic, the game will now be more realistic, with characters relying on chemistry to craft items and tools.

Players will be able to craft smoke bombs to create the illusion of vanishing, helping them deceive others.

Hexe is expected to arrive in 2027. Does this interest you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
