The newest episode of *Peacemaker* Season 2 answered the question of whether Eagly is the legendary Prime Eagle, a theory Red St. Wild proposed last time. This season feels very different from the first, introducing characters with supernatural abilities. The episode reveals whether Eagly is simply a smart, aggressive bird, or if there’s something more to him. Here’s a rundown of what happened.
Is Eagly the Prime Eagle in DC’s Peacemaker Season 2?
In Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, titled “Back to the Suture,” it’s revealed that Eagly is actually the Prime Eagle.
In the fourth episode of Peacemaker Season 2, titled “Need I Say Door,” Economos rescued Eagly from being shot by Red St. Wild. He did this by tackling Red St. Wild, causing him to hit his head and lose consciousness. When Red St. Wild woke up and asked what happened, Economos told him a lie – that another eagle had attacked and knocked him over.
I was fascinated to hear Wild explain that eagles are really protective of their territory. He theorized that if there was more than one eagle around, this particular one, Eagly, could be the ‘Prime Eagle’ – basically the boss of all eagles, according to Yakama and Meskwaki legends. Economos was skeptical, but he let Wild have his fun with the idea. Ultimately, Wild used his special abilities to finally locate Eagly near the cabin. It was a pretty cool episode!
In the fifth episode, Red St. Wild attempted to trap Eagly using a dead rat as bait. However, before Eagly could react, a fox snatched the rat and ran off with it. Eagly chased after the fox, but it quickly ate the entire rat. Unfortunately, the rat was poisoned, and the fox died instantly.
Later on, things took a really dramatic turn when Wild actually shot down Eagly with his gun. He was celebrating, thinking he’d won, but then another eagle swooped in and attacked him from behind! As he scrambled for his weapon, he found himself completely surrounded by eagles. And then, to top it all off, I couldn’t believe it – there was Eagly, perched on a rock right in front of him, watching the whole thing unfold. It was a genuinely tense moment!
Wild quickly understood he hadn’t shot Eagly, but a different eagle altogether. When he looked closer, the symbol of the Prime Eagle appeared behind Eagly, revealing his true identity. Wild immediately began to apologize, but Eagly refused to accept it. Instead, he let out a piercing screech, signaling all the other eagles to attack, and Wild was killed.
