In EastEnders, Mark Fowler (played by Stephen Aaron-Sipple) tried to quickly earn £200,000 because a dangerous loan shark was threatening his family.
Earlier this year, the character was introduced as someone working for the dangerous crime boss Russell Delaney (Anthony Skordi). Delaney tasked him with finding and killing Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), a police informant.
The men began a brutal fight, and Ravi even pleaded for someone to end his suffering. However, Vicki Fowler intervened, encouraging her brother to show mercy and spare Ravi’s life.
As a result, Russell demanded 100k, or the Fowler clan would be at risk.
After learning her nephew was worried about something, Sam Mitchell urged him to ask his father, Grant Mitchell, for money. He didn’t want to at first, but with some support from Lauren Beale, he eventually decided to be honest about what was going on.

Things didn’t go as expected, and when Mark saw Grant flirting with Linda Carter, he started to question what was truly important to him.
Eventually, Grant’s uncle Phil offered to help with the money, but explained it would take time because he was still covering the costs of Nigel Bates’s care home and funeral. Grant overheard this and insisted on being kept in the loop, which unfortunately made the situation much more complicated.
When Grant admitted to having an affair with Russell’s wife, a fight broke out between them. Because the man refused to extend the payment deadline, and the Mitchells got involved, the amount Grant owed had now increased to double the original sum.

I was totally on the edge of my seat during today’s episode! Vicki was shocked to find Russell unexpectedly in her kitchen, and he basically threatened to sabotage her wedding if Mark didn’t pay up – it was a really tense moment!
She was surprised to learn Grant had intervened, and Mark was equally angry to find out his father was interfering. Hoping to prevent things from escalating, Mark asked his dad to stay out of his affairs – he wanted to handle them on his own and didn’t want any financial help.
Grant mentioned he’d asked Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) to assist with selling his bar in Portugal, and he expected to have a buyer soon.

I have to admit, I was on the edge of my seat when Lauren Beale showed up at Mark’s garage! She was questioning him about the cars he’d been fixing up for her, wanting to make sure they weren’t stolen. It’s understandable, really – the last time she and Mark dealt with cars together, things went horribly wrong. Someone stole a vehicle and she even got hurt in the process. Definitely a tense scene!
Mark was the one who had orchestrated the attack, managing to cash in on the proceeds.
Honestly, things were looking pretty bleak for Sam. Then he had an idea – a risky one, but maybe it could work. He figured if he could just get Lauren to actually use the cars he’d been fixing – the ones that were, let’s just say, acquired under less-than-ideal circumstances – then she’d be completely hooked and have to go along with the whole scheme. It felt like a desperate play, but it was all he had left.
Sam and Mark stood huddled together on the barren landscape, watching the vehicle she was buying burst into flames.
Will their plan work?
