Be aware: The following contains significant spoilers for the EastEnders episode that aired on Monday, January 19th, 2026. You can currently watch it on BBC iPlayer.
Monday’s episode of EastEnders featured a heartfelt reunion between Kat Moon and Zoe Slater. However, Jasmine Fisher could soon complicate things.
Last week, the BBC One soap opera revealed that Jasmine killed her father, Dr. Anthony Trueman (played by Nicholas Bailey), while defending herself on Christmas Day in 2025.
Jasmine doesn’t seem to feel bad about killing Anthony, and she’s also prepared to let Zoe take the blame for something she didn’t do.
Kat Moon made her return on Monday’s episode after being away for several weeks. She traveled to Greece to find Chrissie Watts, believing Chrissie was responsible for Anthony’s death. Jasmine convinced Kat of this, pointing out a pattern of Chrissie framing others – just as she framed Zoe years ago, similar to how she framed Den Watts back in 2005.
Kat discovered her search for Chrissie was unsuccessful and decided to check in on Zoe, who hasn’t been seen since being held in jail earlier this month on murder charges.

Kat is increasingly suspicious of Jasmine, especially after encouraging her granddaughter to see Zoe. Kat confronted Jasmine about her months of silently allowing Chrissie to bully Zoe, and questioned why Jasmine wouldn’t report Chrissie to the police. Jasmine claimed she was afraid of Chrissie’s reaction, but Kat dismissed this, insisting she could deal with Chrissie herself.
After a heartfelt reunion with Zoe, Kat encouraged her to pursue legal action and use Jasmine’s knowledge to go after Chrissie. But Zoe refused to involve Jasmine in any wrongdoing, even though she admitted to committing the arson.
Zoe announced she’d plead guilty to manslaughter, following her lawyer Richie Scott’s (Sian Webber) advice, hoping for a lighter sentence. Kat was still very angry and wasn’t speaking to Jasmine either.
At the Queen Vic pub, Jasmine admitted to Kat that she’d finally report Chrissie to the police, even if it meant trouble for herself. Kat was relieved, and suggested getting Zoe a new lawyer could help her case.

After thinking about what might happen if she spoke up, Jasmine decided she needed to leave Walford. She told her boyfriend, Oscar Branning, that she didn’t want to cause further problems for the people she cared about.
Oscar was upset by what Jasmine told him, but her invitation for him to join her seemed to change things. Will Jasmine, who is capable of murder, end up leaving Walford?
This week’s storyline hints that Jasmine might face trouble from Max Branning (played by Jake Wood), Oscar’s father.
