Maye Musk is ready for the holiday season to begin.
Elon Musk’s mother went all out for Halloween, dressing as Cruella de Vil at Heidi Klum’s party on October 31st. She also shared that she’s excited to spend quality time with family and friends in the months ahead.
Maye, 77, shared with TopMob News at a Halloween party in New York City that her family has already made plans for her to spend the holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s – with them.
The model shared that she’ll be spending the holidays with her large family, specifically her grandkids.
Elon Musk has a large family, with a total of 14 children. This includes three with singer Grimes and four with tech executive Shivon Zilis.
Despite the challenges, she’s prepared to stay with her son and his family over the holidays, even if it means temporarily living in their garage. She also made sure to explain exactly how this arrangement came about.
She explained that when she visited him at SpaceX, she had a couple of options for where to stay: a hotel 45 minutes away, or a small single bed in his garage. Despite people asking if it was a luxurious experience, she clarified it was just a garage with boxes. She preferred the simplicity of sleeping in the garage, even with the boxes, rather than making the long commute from a hotel, saying that if she couldn’t stay nearby, there wasn’t much point in visiting at all.
This isn’t the first time Maye has slept in a garage. Her mom used to own a home in Canada with a garage but no spare bedroom, so Maye would simply put a bed in the garage whenever she visited. Interestingly, her mom didn’t even own a car at the time.
After all, who she is visiting always matters more than where she’ll sleep at the end of the day.
Maye explained that she stays with friends whenever she can find a place, prioritizing time with her children and grandchildren over having a comfortable place to stay.
