The Devil wears… turtlenecks?
Emily Blunt had that reaction when her husband, John Krasinski, was picking out what to wear to the Golden Globes earlier this year.
She recalled that when John presented the outfit to her and mentioned it was a turtleneck, she had to force herself to look neutral and pretend she liked the idea, as she shared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on April 28th.
At the award show, John wore a black turtleneck with a suit jacket, and Emily chose a white dress and cape. Emily, who shares daughters Hazel, 12, and Violet, 9, with John, said she thought his outfit looked very handsome.
She admitted he reminded her of Michael Caine. She thought he had a cool, ’60s style, even though she usually doesn’t like men who wear turtlenecks.
Even though Emily isn’t a high-fashion expert like her character in The Devil Wears Prada, she definitely has strong opinions about style, and she’s shared what she doesn’t like when it comes to men’s fashion.
She said she’s okay with a classic leather jacket like the one James Dean wore, but definitely not the kind that looks like it’s for dads – you know, a short, shiny, and tight bomber jacket.
Even though her family doesn’t always appreciate her fashion tips, they greatly admire her work on the stylish new movie and are excited about the upcoming sequel, which will be released on May 1st.
The actress from Smashing Machine recently told TopMob News that her kids watched The Devil Wears Prada for the first time about a year ago, largely because their friends were really into the movie. She said they ‘just love it’.
She shared that her husband really enjoyed the new movie, adding that he’s a big fan of the original and was very pleased with the sequel.
