Emily in Paris star Lily Collins set to play iconic Hollywood star in new film after near “10 years of development”

As a lifelong movie buff, I’m really excited to hear that Lily Collins will be taking on the role of Audrey Hepburn! It’s not just any role, though – she’ll be portraying Hepburn while they were making the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s. For years, fans have been debating who could possibly pull that off, and now we’re finally going to see Collins give it a shot. It’s a fascinating idea for a film – a peek behind the scenes of such a classic!

Deadline reports that a new movie is in development, inspired by Sam Wasson’s book, Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M. The book tells the story of how Audrey Hepburn’s famous 1961 film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, was made and how it marked a turning point for women in modern culture.

Alena Smith, known for her work on ‘Dickinson,’ is writing the screenplay for the film. A director hasn’t been chosen yet.

Lily Collins, famous for playing Emily Cooper in the popular Netflix show Emily in Paris, announced on Instagram that after nearly a decade of work and a lifelong love for Audrey Hepburn, she’s finally able to share some exciting news.

She added: “Honoured and ecstatic don’t begin to express how I feel.”

Audrey Hepburn, the iconic actress who passed away in 1993 at age 64, is best known for her role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The film follows Holly, a stylish young woman in New York City, and her blossoming romance with her new neighbor, Paul Varjak (played by George Peppard).

The film was loosely based on a novella by Truman Capote, published in 1958.

Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M. details how the movie was made, showing everything from the messy planning stages—where Truman Capote reportedly preferred Marilyn Monroe for the lead role, but Audrey Hepburn was ultimately cast—to the difficulties faced during filming.

The film launched Hepburn to superstardom, cementing her place as a legendary actress of the 20th century. She continued to captivate audiences in beloved films like ‘Charade’ (1963), ‘My Fair Lady’ (1964), and ‘How to Steal a Million’ (1966), where she starred alongside Peter O’Toole.
