Emmerdale fans can expect the return of Kevin Townsend, played by Christopher Coghill, as a recent trailer on ITV hinted at his villainous comeback.
A new preview of the soap opera features Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) stating that Kevin is no longer part of their lives and won’t be returning. He insists Kevin is gone for good.
Things soon take a turn for the worse for Robert and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), as a string of difficult events begins to happen.
Footage shows Aaron exiting his car following a crash, with his windshield shattered. A separate clip depicts a fire, and a bullet was also discovered at the scene.

Our suspicions turn out to be right when we see Kev secretly watching the couple from a distance, obviously planning to get revenge. What exactly will he do, and will his plan work?
We last saw Kev attacking Robert before leaving the Dales. This came after the surprising revelation that Kev – who arrived in September after being released from prison – is actually Robert’s husband. They secretly got married while both serving time in prison.
We’ll have to wait and see what Kev is up to this time, but things look dangerous for Aaron.
Coghill has described Kev as a very dangerous individual, stating he wouldn’t hesitate to use physical violence against anyone except, potentially, Robert.
He jokingly referred to Kev as a disruptive force in Robert and Aaron’s relationship, which fans affectionately call ‘Robron’.
Hawley described Kev as drastically different and unstable, and potentially dangerous, though not with the same cold planning as John. He seemed impulsive and reactive, someone you almost pity, and believes Kev is capable of redemption.
I’m really excited because it looks like Kev’s coming back just in time for the big Christmas episode! And get this – Coronation Street and Emmerdale are doing a crossover! They’re calling it ‘Corriedale,’ which is a pretty fun name, and I can’t wait to see what happens when those two worlds collide.
This episode will feature a major, dangerous event that connects both of the soap operas. Several characters will be in peril, and it will include appearances by Aaron Miller and the return of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who has been on the run since his crimes were revealed last fall.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
