In Emmerdale, Dr. Caitlin Todd’s risky behavior is still causing problems, and Charity Dingle is starting to worry her hidden secret will be revealed.
Last month, Charity discovered she was pregnant with Ross Barton’s baby, not as a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah and her husband Jacob. At first, she only wanted one thing in return for keeping the secret: she asked Jacob to drop his formal complaint against her at work.
Things got worse when Todd kept mistreating and bullying Jacob, leading Jacob to realize he needed to stand up for himself.
The HR representative mentioned several coworkers shared the same worries. Because of this, Todd chose to retire early, avoiding potential suspension.
After losing a significant portion of her retirement savings, she looked for ways to earn the money back. She then revealed she’d been keeping a secret about Charity and asked her for £10,000.

Todd vowed that as soon as she got the money, she would leave the village and start a new life in the house her father had left her. Charity was terrified, realizing there was no way she could gather that much money so quickly.
Todd firmly refused the few thousand pounds her target offered, and threatened further action if she didn’t receive more. She’d also learned that Charity co-owned The Woolpack pub, which meant Todd believed she could extract a much larger sum – around £100,000 – from her.
Charity was really upset to learn her request for more time to pay back her loan wasn’t approved. Meanwhile, Todd confidently strolled into the pub and ordered free drinks for everyone, and Sarah saw the whole thing.
Sarah noticed a strained atmosphere between them and asked what was wrong. Charity quickly explained that she’d accidentally scratched a doctor’s car and was now asking for a lot of money to fix it.
Realizing her only chance to improve her difficult circumstances was to sell her Woolie shares, she went to Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly). Caleb understood Charity wouldn’t easily give up the pub unless she had a compelling reason, but she wouldn’t explain what was happening.
He reassured her that they were family, and that he would always be on hand if she needed him.

When Charity got back to Jacob’s Fold, she quickly went upstairs, leaving baby Leyla by herself. She was shocked to find Dr. Todd holding Leyla, who cautioned her that leaving a baby unattended was dangerous and she needed to be more careful next time.
She reaffirmed how much cash she wanted, and said that the deadline was firmly in place – one week.
How will Charity escape this nightmare?
