Emmerdale airs twist for Dawn Fletcher revenge plot ahead of exit in early ITVX release

Dawn Fletcher has been uneasy about her plan to target Joe Tate, but she might have gone too far to back out now.

He finally got what he deserved after Moira Dingle found out he’d forced Robert Sugden to hide passports belonging to the people Ray Walters and Celia Daniels were exploiting at Butler’s Farm.

She was falsely accused and imprisoned for several months, facing charges of human trafficking and double murder. If Robert hadn’t complied, Joe would have revealed a video showing Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) killing her half-brother, John (Oliver Farnworth), to the authorities.

Robert felt terrible about what he’d done and decided to confess. Moira was understandably angry, but she said she wouldn’t involve the police. However, she warned him to be careful around her husband, Cain, as he was the one to worry about.

Moira, determined to get back at Joe, went to Home Farm with a shotgun pointed at him. However, Dawn suddenly appeared and announced she was pregnant, then urgently asked Joe if he was truly guilty of the accusations against him.

He denied everything, but she could tell that he was lying.

She later met Moira and Cain on a rural road, and the three of them started to formulate a plan. Moira advised Dawn they needed to approach the problem with a new outlook and ensure Joe faced consequences for what he’d done.

She wished she and Dawn could return to the happiness they once shared, get married, and then take advantage of everything he possessed.

Dawn promised that she would handover the funds to the Dingles, which would further enrage Joe.

Watching today’s episode, I really felt for her. She started to feel awful about all her plotting, especially seeing how much Joe was doing for her. It turns out she was feeling sick in the mornings, and he was so sweet, putting together a little care package to help her feel better. It was a genuinely touching moment, and you could see her guilt building.

Joe went above and beyond, even inviting his stepdaughter’s ex-husband, Billy (Jay Kontzle), to dinner, hoping to help them all become a close, blended family.

Dawn hurried to Wishing Will Cottage to express her doubts about their scheme to Moira. Moira advised her to leave town before Joe found out, but Dawn firmly believed it should be Joe who left, not her.

Vowing to win the war, Dawn agreed that she was going to take Joe for every penny that he owned.

Unbeknownst to her, Joe and Graham Foster knew exactly what was happening and were secretly plotting to prevent her from succeeding.

How will Joe get his counter revenge?
