Emmerdale confirms Robert Sugden outcome in ITVX release amid Aaron recovery and John search

Please be aware that the following information contains spoilers for the latest episode of Emmerdale, which aired today, Friday, September 19th, 2025, and is now available to watch on ITVX.

Next Friday’s episode of Emmerdale will reveal how Robert Sugden feels as the police start looking for his brother, John, who is responsible for a murder. Robert, played by Ryan Hawley, will be shown to be proven right about something, while Oliver Farnworth plays John.

Robert was returned to jail while awaiting trial after John falsely accused him in a call to the police. John then attempted suicide by driving his car, with his husband Aaron Dingle, into a ravine.

I was so relieved when Aaron made it! He managed to get help, and right after that, John rushed Mackenzie Boyd – Lawrence Robb, who plays him, is amazing – to the hospital before taking off. It was a crazy scene!

It was unclear if Mack would survive, and doctors could only wait and see if he would recover.

Mack finally woke up at the end of Thursday’s episode, much to the relief of his wife, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

Now that Cain Dingle has learned John killed his son Nate, he’s determined to get answers. He goes to Mack, the only one who knows the full story, to demand an explanation.

After everything that happened, Robert will become a central figure, while Aaron is in the hospital trying to process the extent of John’s wrongdoing.

We’re keeping the details of the day a secret, but there’s a hospital scene that’s sure to captivate viewers. The conversation within it might not go as planned, but there’s still reason to be optimistic.

Elsewhere, some characters are forced to deliver shattering news to those left behind.

As Robert works out where he goes from here, John makes an appearance – but in what capacity?

Don’t miss the latest Emmerdale drama – you can watch it now on ITVX or tonight at 7:30pm on ITV1. But be warned, there’s much more to come in this story!
