Actor Chris Coghill is set to return to Emmerdale just three months after his ITV soap exit.
The actor, first known for playing Kev Townsend starting in September 2025 and leaving the role in January 2026, is returning to the show later this year. A recent announcement hinted that his character’s new business will cause problems for the town’s residents.
So, what is ‘A Slice of Kev-en’? It appears to be a café on wheels, and it’s likely to annoy Nicola King!
The man is Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) separated husband and the biological father of Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches), though he’s hidden this from everyone. He was last seen just managing to get away from serial killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

Kev got involved in John’s plan to murder Robert, but he eventually realized what was happening and warned Aaron that John was a threat to both of them. Kev then left the area.
Emmerdale’s producer, Laura Shaw, confirmed that Chris is returning to the show due to its popularity with viewers.
With Lewis, Kev’s son, living in the village and not knowing who his father is, it’s clear there are more twists and turns to come.
