Emmerdale officially confirms return of iconic villain for “explosive” scenes with new first look

Patsy Kensit will return to the ITV soap opera Emmerdale as her character, Sadie King, the show has announced.

Rumors began circulating last month that Patsy Kensit, who started acting as a child and later starred in films like Lethal Weapon 2, was returning to her famous role in a soap opera.

Sadie made a grand entrance to the Dales in 2004, arriving by helicopter to surprise her husband, Jimmy King (Nick Miles). She quickly made it known that she didn’t approve of Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) dating her father-in-law, Tom (Ken Farrington).

Oh man, Sadie was a total schemer! She deliberately caused a huge scene at Charity and Tom’s wedding by revealing photos of Charity kissing her cousin Cain – talk about drama! And her love life? Let’s just say it was complicated. She had flings with Cain, Jimmy’s brother Matthew, and even a young Robert Sugden back when Karl Davies played him. It was wild to watch!

Following her divorce from Jimmy, she teamed up with Cain to destroy the King’s River show home, resulting in the deaths of three people. They then planned to kidnap Tom, but he betrayed her and stole the ransom money for himself.

A standoff happened, and Cain appeared to shoot her, but it was all a plan to help her escape the village.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw expressed her excitement about Patsy Kensit returning to the show as the memorable character Sadie King. She said they are thrilled to have her back in the village.

Sadie’s comeback promises to be shocking and unforgettable. Her charm and complete lack of mercy will bring a dramatic and captivating energy to the Yorkshire Dales.

Kensit expressed her excitement about returning to Emmerdale, saying she fondly remembers her time on the show and particularly enjoyed playing the character of Sadie King.

Everyone involved with the show – the actors and the team behind the scenes – is fantastic, and I’m thrilled to be back. It’s a truly wonderful experience.

Following her role in the serial drama in 2006, Patsy Kensit joined Holby City as ward sister Faye Morton, a role she played for three years. She later appeared in EastEnders as the controversial character Emma Harding.

Sadie is coming back to Emmerdale later this year and will reunite with several familiar characters.

Besides Jimmy, Cain, and Robert, it’s hard to believe Charity and the rest of the Dingle family will be happy to see her.

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) might also be upset, as he lost his family home, Home Farm, when Sadie manipulated Zoe Tate (the late Leah Bracknell) into giving it to the King family.

Kim Tate (Claire King) is well-known for ruling her estate. Will she attempt to protect it from Sadie again?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
