Viewers of Emmerdale now know who has been setting fires at the farm, though the characters on the show are still in the dark.
Over the past several months, Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle have been dealing with someone deliberately starting fires, seemingly to sabotage their farm business.
Joe Tate now completely owns the land, following Cain Dingle’s reluctant departure. Cain was forced to give up after a potential tuberculosis outbreak hurt their business and a previous slurry leak had already caused significant financial problems for his family.
Cain didn’t have any legal rights to the other half of the business, which belonged to his wife, Moira (Natalie J Robb), who was unfairly in prison. Knowing he needed to concentrate on his recent, serious prostate cancer diagnosis, she agreed to let Joe take over the share.
He had no interest in running the farm himself, and installed Robert and Aaron.

Initially, investigators suspected Moira might be starting the fires, perhaps to revisit the house where she’d lived for seventeen years. However, suspicion then shifted to Kammy Hadiq (also known as Shebz Miah).
Someone had been hanging around the fields and was seen attempting to set his car on fire. Robert and Aaron were certain they’d caught the person responsible, but it turned out he was actually homeless and desperately needed the money from the insurance claim to get back on his feet.
Honestly, when Kammy moved in with the Dingles, it felt like everything Robert and Aaron had built was just…reset. We were back to where we started, and it was incredibly frustrating to watch.
Today, the team searched the fields for clues, not realizing they were being observed. Graham Foster, played by Andrew Scarborough, was watching them with binoculars, and it briefly appeared he was considering making a move.
That wasn’t what happened, though. He’d noticed someone acting strangely and was attempting to offer assistance.

Robert was certain he’d located the person he was looking for, and he suddenly appeared behind him, waving a shotgun. A short struggle followed, and the gun went off.
The loud noise startled the person who started the fire, causing them to run away. However, their identity was soon revealed when Kyle Winchester, the teenage son of Cain (played by Huey Quinn), was spotted with a lighter, actively pouring fuel onto hay bales.
Will Kyle be able to keep his misdemeanours a secret?
