Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has been seriously tempted by an illegal scheme in Emmerdale.
So, things got really messy when Archie Breckle – played by Kai Assi – decided to pull a fast one on Caleb Miligan, who’s actually his dad Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) boss. It’s a classic setup for drama, honestly!
Archie used AI to copy the voice of Caleb’s daughter, Steph, and convinced him to send £5,000 for a house deposit in London. Caleb then asked Billy to keep the money transfer a secret from his wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly), because he thought she wouldn’t approve of him giving in to their daughter’s request.
But being honest might have saved him a significant financial loss, especially so soon after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) had already stolen £30,000 worth of items from his warehouse.
Ruby knew that Steph was actually living in Thailand, and not London.

Archie used stolen money – around thousands of pounds deposited into a fake bank account under Steph’s name – to buy a new laptop. He didn’t realize Jai’s girlfriend, Kerry Pollard (played by Laura Norton), would be delivering it. When Kerry found out about the scam, she decided she wanted a share.
Today on the show, the characters tried to convince Caleb to give them another £5,000, but they were interrupted by Pollard walking in and discovering what they were doing.
Caleb and Ruby grew suspicious when the phone line went silent, and were then puzzled by how the scammer knew details about the age difference between Ross Barton and Laurel Thomas – a detail mentioned in their recent storyline.
They reported the incident to the police and then asked Kerry to come to the office to update her passwords. She briefly worried they suspected her, but she managed to avoid being discovered.
Pollard told Archie to close the bank account, and as they tried to cover their tracks, Caleb and Ruby unexpectedly stopped by David’s Shop. Ruby noticed Kerry had a showy new handbag, but pretended it was fake.

After being embarrassed by recent events, Caleb promised his brother Cain Dingle that he’d work on getting his confidence back, and Kerry’s new acquisition gave him an idea how to do it.
Caleb asked Billy for help with a plan to start illegally copying and selling goods from the depot, hoping to recoup lost money. Billy was initially against the idea, but Caleb managed to get him to think about it by offering him 5% of the profits.
Will this lead to more trouble for Caleb?
