Okay, so the buzz was true! 1047 Games, the team behind Splitgate, just revealed their next game: EMPULSE. From what I understand, it’s a fast-paced 6v6 first-person shooter focused on movement, and it’s coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The good news is we won’t have to wait too long – early access is planned for 2026!
The main draw of this game is its connection to the popular Titanfall series, especially the inclusion of mechs. These powerful machines appear on the Freehold maps and are equipped with strong weapons, a lot of health, and special abilities. So far, only one mech has been shown, but the goal is to capture one and use it to dominate the battlefield.
The game features fast-paced movement, with levels built for chaining together wall runs, grappling hooks, and short teleports. Players can also use special ‘P.A.I.N.T.’ bombs to change the environment and create strategic opportunities. A unique addition is the ability to wall run in both directions, adding a fresh take on classic movement mechanics.
We don’t have all the specifics yet, but we’ve gotten glimpses of the weapons, including an assault rifle, shotgun, and what appears to be a submachine gun. One stage takes place on a skyscraper still being built, offering opportunities to jump between cranes. Players will also fight their way through typical upscale buildings covered in vines.
Visit the official website to learn more and sign up for early access – you might even get a chance to try out a beta version!
