Netflix has announced the release date for Enola Holmes 3 and shared some sneak peek photos.
The new movie, written by Jack Thorne, features Millie Bobby Brown as Enola and takes her to Malta. There, her personal life and work become complicated when she encounters a mystery more dangerous and complex than anything she’s dealt with before.
It is set to be released globally on 1 July 2026.
A newly released image depicts Enola Holmes wearing what looks like a wedding gown, and another shows her facing danger inside a burning building.

The third image features Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill, back in detective mode. The fourth shows Dr. John Watson (Himesh Patel) talking to Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), and the fifth displays Sherlock’s mother, Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter), standing in a hallway.

Millie Bobby Brown described this installment of the series as a turning point for her character, Enola. She explained that Enola is becoming more sure of herself while still growing and changing. Having established her own path, Enola is now figuring out what she wants to do with it, a feeling Brown believes many viewers will connect with.

She explained that working with Louis is a key ingredient in what makes their films so unique. After years of collaboration and mutual support, they’ve developed a natural chemistry and comfortable working relationship that feels genuine on screen.
It’s been wonderful to show Enola and Tewkesbury’s relationship growing up. It’s moved beyond just playful interactions and now feels much more meaningful. They have a strong trust, which allows them to be bolder in their actions and explore the deeper emotional parts of their story.

We don’t have many specifics about the story for the third movie yet, but the writer, Thorne, recently shared some hints in an exclusive interview for our video series, The TopMob Writers’ Room.
I wanted to revisit the story of Enola Holmes, but with a fresh approach that explored a different aspect of Victorian British society. I’ve always seen Enola as a unique lens through which to examine that period.
He explained that the first movie focused on changes to land ownership and voting rights, the second on the rise of labor unions, and the current one explores our history as a colony. He finds balancing these important themes with his own filmmaking style and writing for Millie particularly rewarding.
In addition to the actors already mentioned, Sharon Duncan-Brewster will be returning as the villain Moriarty.
Philip Barantini, known for directing Adolescence, will be the new director.
