Euphoria’s Nika King Reacts to Only Getting “One Line” in Season 3

Nika King is euphoric over her HBO show cameo—but not in the way you’d expect.

Marcia Gay Harden, who plays Leslie Bennett on Euphoria, jokingly reacted to her surprisingly short appearance in the May 17th episode. She was amused to find out her return in season three lasted only a few seconds onscreen.

After the episode I’ve been talking about all week finally aired, my mom jokingly teased me in an Instagram video. She said people waited a long time just for me to have one line!

Interestingly, King only spoke four lines in that episode. Although Leslie made the phone call, the scene mostly focused on Rue, shown sitting by herself in a church.

After a heartfelt speech about turning her life around, Rue said goodbye to her mother, from whom she’d been separated because of her struggles with drugs. Her mother replied with a simple, loving, “I love you.”

The scene shifted to Leslie at the Bennett’s house. She was looking sadly out the window after ending a phone call.

King found the brief, ten-second clip amusing, showing she has a good sense of humor. Reacting to it, the 47-year-old joked, “You’re lucky I can take a joke!”

Leslie’s role in the show might become more significant as the season goes on. Earlier, Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson), a henchman for the drug lord, hinted at something concerning to Rue about her mom, Leslie. He told Rue, “It would be really awkward if I had to lie to your mother, Leslie. She’s a nice lady, and I told her you’re doing well.”

Storm Reid first joined the cast of Euphoria when the show premiered on HBO in 2019. She continued to appear in season two, which aired in 2022, before the show paused production for three years.

Honestly, during the show’s break, I loved how King jokingly admitted she really needed it back – she was being totally real about needing the money! It was funny because we all knew she wasn’t shy about being practical, and it just made me root for her even more.

During a recent comedy show, the comedian joked about her financial struggles, saying she hadn’t paid her rent in six months and playfully wished Zendaya would come home to help. She also revealed she hasn’t gotten any new acting roles since finishing the show Euphoria.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m getting a lot of questions about Euphoria! Just a heads-up for fans: the season three finale is scheduled to drop on May 31st. Right now, HBO hasn’t said anything official about whether we can expect a fourth season, so we’re all holding our breath along with you! I’ll keep you updated as soon as I hear anything new.
