Every Hazbin Hotel Resident Ranked by How Chaotic They Are (& Alastor Isn’t #1)

Hazbin Hotel is a safe haven in Hell for demons who haven’t changed their ways. It’s a chaotic place, where things are rarely orderly, and Charlie Morningstar’s dream of a hotel is constantly filled with mayhem. The demons who live there are all different – some are a little more controlled in their craziness, while others are completely unpredictable. Though the hotel plans to house more demons in the future, only a small group called it home during the first season.

Before the new season begins, let’s examine just how much trouble each of the main characters causes. We’ll look at how their power stacks up against their tendency to act impulsively and create chaos, disrupting even the fragile peace in Hell. Get ready to discover the real ranking of Hell’s most entertainingly disruptive residents.

7) Vaggie

Vaggie is probably the most level-headed and practical resident of the Hotel. She focuses all her efforts on creating structure, setting rules, and keeping things under control. She mainly tries to protect everyone and manage their more chaotic tendencies.

Vaggie might get fierce and focused when Charlie or herself are in danger, but she only reacts to threats – she never starts trouble. Her main priority is keeping the peace and protecting Charlie, which makes her the most level-headed person in Hell. She often ends up fixing other people’s mistakes and tries to bring some order to the chaotic group of sinners, acting like a responsible family member.

6) Husk

Husk expresses chaos through his own internal negativity, being deeply cynical and unwilling to work with any kind of plan or show any positive feelings. He creates trouble at the Hotel by constantly pointing out the flaws in Charlie’s hopeful, and sometimes unrealistic, ideas, and his harsh realism quickly destroys any optimism.

Now that he’s made a deal with Alastor and overcome his gambling problem, his behavior is much more limited. He mostly just works at the bar, drinks, and complains. While he’s definitely grumpy and not usually helpful (aside from when he’s around Angel Dust), he rarely does anything more than offer a sarcastic remark or stumble around when drunk.

5) Sir Pentious

Sir Pentious is chaotic because he’s not very competent and constantly seeks approval. He tries to be a supervillain, but his plans are always badly thought out, poorly carried out, and inevitably fail. His antics usually involve explosions, fights with Cherry Bomb, broken inventions, and the often-unsuccessful efforts of his Egg Bois.

I’ve noticed that whenever he tries to take over or cause trouble, it always leads to chaos and destruction. This happened immediately when he arrived at the Hotel. Though he ultimately means well, his actions are fueled by a combination of wanting too much and just not being very good at things, which creates a constant, low-level mess. It’s a pattern, really – ambition mixed with clumsiness always seems to lead to disorder.

4) Angel Dust

Angel Dust is a constant source of trouble, creating chaos with his negative attitude, impulsive behavior, and tendency to ignore rules and safety. He mainly causes problems by mixing his adult film career and conflicts with rivals into the Hotel, disrupting its peaceful environment.

He’s a reckless and unpredictable person who often acts in ways that are intentionally shocking or provocative, causing discomfort to those around him, especially his roommates. He doesn’t aim to cause chaos, but his tendency to put himself in danger – usually for a fleeting high, when he’s feeling down, or out of spite – makes life at the Hotel very difficult.

3) Charlie

Charlie, as the owner and cheerful heart of the Hazbin Hotel, often finds herself in awkward situations. Her big ideas and boundless energy don’t quite mesh with the pessimistic views of her guests and the harsh truths of Hell. She’s very emotional and can quickly swing between feeling incredibly hopeful and completely overwhelmed.

When Charlie feels strong emotions – whether it’s stress, excitement, or determination – she acts so quickly that even Vaggie can’t intervene. This often results in spontaneous musical performances, accidental destruction, or very public, intense arguments. Despite her good intentions and desire to help everyone, Charlie is a force of chaos in Hell, constantly disrupting the usual, miserable status quo.

2) Alastor

Alastor, the Radio Demon, doesn’t display instability openly; instead, he’s subtly manipulative and always in control, which makes him incredibly frightening. He avoids loud outbursts or direct destruction, but everything he does is intended to control others, stir up trouble, or change the atmosphere of the Hotel. His agreements always come with hidden, unbreakable clauses, and his cheerful demeanor masks a powerful, but carefully contained, threat.

He approaches everything, even his own life, as if he’s acting in a play, making every interaction feel risky and unpredictable. You never know when he’ll abruptly shift from being charming to intimidating, or reveal something disturbing. Alastor is always thinking several moves ahead, outsmarting both friends and foes. He expertly orchestrates chaos, carefully manipulating events until everything falls apart.

1) Niffty

Niffty is a whirlwind of pure chaos packed into a small body. She’s constantly buzzing with energy, endlessly cleaning, fixing, or breaking things that seem even slightly off – and in Hell, that’s pretty much everything! Her obsession with getting rid of bugs and her incredibly quick, almost manic shifts in focus make her totally unpredictable and impossible to control.

Despite her small size, she’s incredibly unpredictable and chaotic – a whirlwind of energy with a penchant for sharp objects and sudden, clumsy movements. She needs constant watching, not because she’s mean-spirited, but because being around her is simply… chaotic. She’s not so much a person as a powerful, unpredictable force, driven by intense compulsions and a disturbing, relentless curiosity.

Hazbin Hotel premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
